Iberostar Tucan, Playa del Carmen

This was a very disappointing experience. The beds were very very hard and the service was very poor excluding a couple of exceptions. We started at noon trying to get a mattress pad and finally got one around 10:00 after four attempts. We finally got ahold of Amanda who was very considerate and took charge of the situation. Everyone else just made promises and then blew us off. Also one morning we got up to find we had no running water. After awhile the water was back on. The food was mediocre at best. The massage was very good however. The worker bee's deserve a hand because they were very hard workers.

If you are a scuba diver iberostar tucan/quetzal has a great dive shop. The buffet is excellent. Will go back in a heart beat!!!

What an absolutely wonderful experience! This was my first experience in Mexico as well as with an "all inclusive" resort. The hotel is gorgeous & airy, very clean, and well managed. The staff is friendly and accomodating in all regards. The ocean and beach are warm, clean, and breathtakingly beautiful. I can't say enough good things about the quality and quantity of the food. Go with an appetite and you won't be disappointed! Try their specialty restaurants, (by reservation only - but still free!), if you want some additional pampering and elegance for an evening meal. I also highly recommend you spend a day of snorkling at Xel-Ha National Park during your stay. The rates are inexpensive, you can book the excursion right at the hotel, and it will be an unforgettable experience. As you can see above, I truly felt that everything about the Iberostar Quetzal was five stars!!

First trip to Mexico, not at all like I thought. The people were very friendly and wanted to make us happy. They seemed to be glad we were bringing our cash to their out of the way place. Our tourist dollars are making their lives better.With the Peso being of such low value the cost was minumal. The area around Playa Del Carman is clean and crime free. We met people from all over the world.

What a fantastic hotel. We went there in November 2004 and are returning in October 2006. Can't wait. Just fantastic in every respect. As good as any 4+ hotel in Europe.

The food was average. I got sick 2 days into the vacation and was violently sick. The so-called "restaurants" their used leftover food from the buffet that wasn't eaten. I had something that was supposed to be a steak at one of these places and it wasn't good. I will not go back here.

You could eat all day and the food was great. Staff was wonderful. Will go back asap.

This hotel was outstanding! The staff went above and beound the call of duty to help us with anything we needed. The property was gorgous. Never had a better stay away from home! I will be back to visit! There was nothing negative about the resort.

I loved it because the people there are nice! and because the shows were great! and the service was great also!
