Great hotel...Rock hard beds.
By ,
We recently took a family Trip to Playa del Carmen and stayed at the Iberostar Quetzal. We had heard a lot of good things about the hotel and its staff and activities, all of which were true! The staff was wonderful, the activities and environment were great, the only thing that all 14 of us agreed on was that the beds were probably the most uncomfortable beds we have ever slept (or not slept) in. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is wonderful and the rooms were beautiful, the beds were rock hard. So I do recommend the hotel for all it has to offer, and if you like hard mattresses you will have a great trip.

Heaven On Earth
By ,
Words cannot describe its beauty. When I first looked out onto the ocean after emerging from the "tropical forest" it took my breath away. Soon I was wading in the surf and laying on the beach on the most beautiful place on Earth. The food is hard to beat, especially considering the fact that it is all-inclusive meaning that you can eat 'till your stomach's about to pop. All day there are many activities to keep you happy such as a ping pong tournament (which I placed 2nd) and even an adult tug-of-war in the pool. The beach is pristine, the service impeccable, the fun endless, and the relaxation supreme. Overall, this was the best resort that I have ever visited. Everyday, I long to return to the beach and just relax under a palm tree and listen to the waves crash upon the white shores. Go there. You won't be disappointed.

Best Trip Ever!
By ,
The Iberostar Quetzal was a truly amazing experience. The staff was friendly and attentive - you've never seen such hard workers. The resort was beautiful - areas were imaaculate and rooms very tasteful. They have a great selection of restaraunts (the Japanese was our favorite). We could not have been happier and plan to go back as soon as we can.

best iberostar yet
By ,
Ive beento 3 iberostar hotels and this one by far outshines the others ive been to one in spain, dominican republic and of course mexico ,The quality of the place is there in all of them but this one has that little bit more and i put it down to the friendliness of the staff . I never usually go back to a place twice as the world is so big and so much to see but we are planning to go back to this hotel in 2007

Our stay during Wilma
By ,
My wife and I with our two closest friends were booked for 10/15 - 10/22. Thanks to Wilma we stayed an additional week and returned home @ 6AM 10/29. All of the other reviews about how wonderful this hotel is are very acurate so I won't waste any time on silly stuff like how strong your drink was. We were confined to our room for 60+ hours thanks to the storm. During that time the staff brought us three meals a day directly to our room along with towels and sheets. They took care of us when other hotels were asking their guests to check out. The best part - NO additional room charges for the seven extra days we were there because of Wilma. We would not even consider staying in another resort when we return to area. If you need additional information of pics feel to email me!

Total Paradise.....
By ,
We stayed one week, all-inclusive & we are hooked!!! We will definately go back! We walked a few of the other resorts and the Iberostar Quetzal was definately the most down to earth and friendliest resort there. The staff always said Hello, they were very friendly and helpful ALL of the time. The food was good and the rooms were nice and clean. I hope that the Hurricane didn't destroy the resort. Anyway, if you've never been try this Resort, you won't be sorry.

Very relaxing
By ,
We went in a group of 20 with 8 being kids..We got to Ibero Quetzal 6 days after Emily hit Playa del Carmen, so we didn't know what to expect.. The resort had minimal damage but the jungle it sits in got the blunt of the storm...We had a blast..they had workers everywhere and by the 3rd day everything looked great..the food was excelent and the drinks were very good..we gave the maids $2 every day and our mini frig was full of water, beer and cokes...the bartenders were great..better when we gave them a $1 tip, your drinks were never watered down like some people say they were excellent!! The main buffet in the evenings were better than the resturants..more choices and very tasty..none of us got sick the whole week we were there..we just got sick when we knew we had to come back to Texas...All in all we have been to Playa, Cancun, and Cozumel..and Playa del carmen beats them all...more laid back, very relaxing. Iberostar Quetzal or tucan or any other Iberostar resort is worth every penny...We will be going back toQuetzal next summer.
