Iberostar Tucan, Playa del Carmen

My husband and I went here on our honeymoon. It was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were great, the restaurants and food were great, the beach was perfect and the pool is so big and nice. The service was great too. There was always someone around to help. The entertainment each night was great--we really looked forward to that each evening. We can't wait to go back in October....it's such a wonderful place to go.

This was our first vacation ever. This hotel made me feel bad that I've been missing out for so long. The service was extrodinary. The clenliness was second to none. The service was so helpful and there for our every need. The food was a little on the excentric side for my family but it was good and the variety was excellent. The beach was stoney to walk on but it was beautiful and very well taken care of. The activites were well organized and very abundant. There was more things than we could ever do in a week. I will surely be back. We will brobably not ever go to another hotel in Playa Del Carmen.

I have travelled extensively throughout Mexico and the Carribean. I found the Iberostar Quetzel and it's sister resort (Tucan), located next to it the most ideal place to have a vacation. The resort surrounds a mini jungle. When you walk from the lobby through the jungle to the pools and the beach, it is breat-taking. I defy you to find a friendlier or nicer place in all of Mexico, in their price bracket ( it is definitely 5 star. The food and restaurants are excellent as are the amenities and entertainment. I have influenced 16 different couples into going to the Quetzel/Tucan and all have said it was as good as if not better than I had told them. See you in Feb. 2008

We've just come back from a fortnight at the Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal and I must say it was fantastic. The maids cleaned the room everyday and we had a different towel figure everyday as well. Saw loads of animals wandering around including monkeys,peacocks and flamingos, the food was very nice (yes a little repetitive) but no worse than any other all inclusive hotel i've ever stayed in. The evening entertainment is very good not quite west end shows or broadway but the entertainment team make a huge effort to keep you happy and are very enthusiastic about there shows, they put their hearts and souls into a production. Beach totally fab had no problem getting a sunbed by the pool or on the beach. This has been a lovely holiday everyone was so helpful, this is the first time I have ever stayed in a hotel where I would consider going back to again, please go you will have a lovely time.

Have you ever been on vacation and got to the point where you started to miss home? That happens most of the time with us, even when travelling with children. However, not this time - I think we were all very sad to leave this place. I'm extremely jealous of those reviews I see where people stay for two weeks. This is the kind of place/vacation that will make you want to sell everything, move to Mexico, and get a job with the hotel in exchange for a room!

We spent Christmas 06 here and loved it! They put on a delicious feast for Christmas Eve and kept everything running full force on Christmas day. They Mexican restaurant was our favorite at the Queztal. As written before, the beds are rock hard! Ask when you check in to get an 'eggshell' pad. We did and it still took two days for them to get it to us. Service otherwise was great! Our two boys loved, ages 11 and 14. They could eat and drink as much they wanted! Saved me a bundle. We have been on many cruises and this was just as nice, even better because all the drinks were included and the pool was huge! Found the same 'save your pool lounge or cabana' attitude that you find on a cruise though. Also, loved the tennis courts, but one always seemed to be tied up with 'private lesson' instructor....which left only one court for all the hotel guests to reserve a spot on.

This was a very disappointing experience. The beds were very very hard and the service was very poor excluding a couple of exceptions. We started at noon trying to get a mattress pad and finally got one around 10:00 after four attempts. We finally got ahold of Amanda who was very considerate and took charge of the situation. Everyone else just made promises and then blew us off. Also one morning we got up to find we had no running water. After awhile the water was back on. The food was mediocre at best. The massage was very good however. The worker bee's deserve a hand because they were very hard workers.

Pool and beach...best water for swimming, great drinks, food not great but plenty of it beautiful resort with great service. The grounds are filled with wild life, cranes monkeys,peacocks. the staff are great.

BEAUTIFUL GROUNDS, MONKEYS IN THE TREES,POOL AREA WONDERFUL, PEOPLE WERE GREAT. THE FOOD WAS GREAT WITH A HUGE SELECTION. SHOWS WERE ENJOYABLE AND ENTERTAINING. THE ROOMS AND SERVICE WAS WONDERFUL AND WELL MAINTAINED. IF YOU CAN'T FIND FOOD YOU LIKE YOU MUST BE TO PICKEY. GREAT TIME CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK.

Beaches and great resort. When you get the all-inclusive you can go to the other Iberostars they have complimentary daytime exchange privileges Cancun, Cozumel, Paraiso Del Mar and etc). Iberostar�s motto is STAY AT ONE, PLAY AT ALL. Enjoyed the scenery and I shopped till I dropped. I loved the island hopping (went by plane and boat to Cozumel). This was a land trip so it�s not like when you take a cruise and only get a few hours here and there. The resort had restaurants, Jacuzzi, pool bar, nightclub and tons of activities (i.e. scuba diving, tennis, games and etc). I stayed in the suite with balcony terrace over looking the beach. When I woke in the morning it was beautiful.
