Iberostar Tucan, Playa del Carmen

This place is great. this is the sort of place that you see in magazines and think that they dont exist. the iberostar quetzel, mexico has a fabulous pool, great food, freindly staff,beautiful beach, we even had monkeys and flamingoes, and peacocks right outside our balcony.infact its impossible to find anything to complain about. there is such a variety of food that you just cant get bored eating (as my waistline shows!)if you go you have to go on the jungle tour. its fantastic, you get your own speedboat and get to drive it through the mangroves to a reef where you can snorkel in the clear waters with loads (if not big) fish.we had a fabulous time and would recomend this place to anyone. we saved for ages to go to mexico and we werent disapointed at all. heaven can be a reality. check it out for yourselves. matt and becky

We booked a trip to the Quetzal in December so that we could take advantage of the fact that our daughter was still under 4 yr old. The trip was for April. They contacted us to tell us that they had a better deal and re booked our trip for us. When we arrived they said that since we made the plans after she turned 4 we had to pay more for her. We explained that we had booked it in December and that they had contacted us with this "Better deal" they told us "Too bad, that is our policy" and forced us to pay more. Worst part is that we have been going to this area for 15 years, at least once a year. Sometimes twice. We have stayed with this hotel 4 times! You would think that they could have trusted us and believed what we told them. We were treated very poorly, made to wait hours to resolve this, and still had to pay extra. Manager was very rude. Funjet refused to get involved. Wont go back. They might have gotten my couple hundred dollars, but they lost thousands in return fair. Bye......

We loved it here!!!! We had originally stayed in a room on the Tucan side, but I asked the next morning to move closer to the pool/beach and they were more than accommodating. We were literally steps to the pool and a few more to the beach. The staff at every place in the hotel couldn't have been nicer. Room was always cleaned and cool when we entered later in the day. Food at the different restaurants we ate at in the resort was delicious. The buffets were always well stocked and again the staff were so friendly and helpful. We are definitely going back there in 2008. Even the weather couldn't have been nicer!!!!!

Been there twice. Plan to go back again. The staff is so helpful and friendly, the beaches were beautiful, the weather gorgeous. I can;t imagine a better vacation.

We enjoyed everything about this hotel..The food was great. and the service was wonderful. Everyone went above and beyond to help at all times.. There was always a hi from everyone you met.

We were at this resort for a family gathering over the Christmas, New Year holiday and it was awesome. There were 22 of us total and we were treated like royalty. The food was unbelievable where ever you at. (i believe it has 5 or 6 restuarants). What ever you wanted to do or eat or drink , it was always no problem sir that's included.

This place was awesome! Beautiful beach, great food, spider monkeys right in front of our room! We had a wonderful time here and would highly recommend it especially to families with children!

It was amazing overthere! I felt like being in the jungle, with superdeluxe food and comfort! Beautiful rooms, buildings..beach, garden. There was nothing i did not like. The people who work there were soooo friendly!! Really amazing! The food was also very very very good. Great hotel! Super great! Joyce from Holland

There is nothing to dislike! We are a family of 7, mom, dad, and 5 girls, ages 14, 13, 10, 8, 7. None of us got bord and we never wanted to leave! us girls made up things like every week we would invite a different friend to stay with us. We were origanaly supose to stay in an avarage hotel like room but were upgraded for the same price because they hadnt finished clening it. Defenetly a wonderful vacation spot!!!

I loved the Iberostar! It was beautiful with all of the different cultures and animals it gave a very nice variety to the hotel. Some animals to definitely take pictures of are: Monkies,Peacocks,and Flamingos. The rooms were absolutely gorgeous! I disagree with one of the reviewers, I think the beds were perfectly comfortable! The only thing I would tell you to watch out for is in the pool, the water is 5 1/2 feet, but when you actually step in it is alot deeper than it seems so "CUIDADO!" All in all, this hotel was amazing and I am looking forward to going back ASAP.
