I'd LOVE to go back anytime!
By ,
This was our second time here at Iberostar Punta Cana. From the moment you enter this hotel, you're greeted with the warm Dominican hospitality. Not once did I see a staff member not greet you or smile at you. Everything about this resort, was awsome, their was always something to do. Their animation staff is fabulous, they entertain you on the beach, by the poolside, and in the evening. The food was good also, you had a variety of buffet meals, and ala carte meals. The rooms were always clean and with powerful a/c units. It was well worth the money, and I'd highly recommend this resort to anyone, go and experince it yourself or with your family. E.Hernandez

Good not Great
By ,
I recently spent a week at the Iberostar Punta Cana with my boyfriend and my parents. If I could say one really positive thing about the resort, it would be that they are very meticulous about cleaning. The rooms, the pool, the dinning areas, the lobby... everything was cleaned thoroughly every day. Also, there is tons of space to sit under cabanas at the beach or at the pool. You don’t have to get up at 5 in the morning to scope out your spot. 9 or 10am after breakfast will do. However, the hotel tells you that you cannot save chairs by putting your towel over them. Don’t listen. Everyone does it so if you don’t, you may have a little bit of trouble finding the spot you want. The food was adequate. I’ve had better food, but it’s not like I ever went hungry because I couldn’t find anything I liked to eat. The absolute worst part about the hotel, for me, was the drinks. While they were strong enough, you couldn’t get a frozen drink so save your life. All margaritas, daiquiris, pina coladas etc were liquid. They have a barely frozen mix and add warm rum and warm flavoring so by the time they hand it to you, it is all liquid. The staff was generally nice, but not quite as friendly as other areas of the Caribbean that I’ve been. The majority of the staff tries to keep you happy. Also, be sure to brush up on your Spanish before you go. It isn’t like Mexico where a ton of people at the resort speak English. Also, be aware. There is basically nothing to do but sit around and swim. While that was kind of the point of my trip, it’s not for everyone. If you are looking to do a lot of partying, this resort is not for you. If you are looking to do a lot of shopping and touring, this country is not for you. Lastly, if you are trying to decide between the Iberostar Punta Cana and the Iberostar Dominicana, they are basically the same hotel. They share the same pool, same beach, same restaurants. The only thing they don’t share is a lobby. So if one is cheaper than the other at the time of your vacation, take the cheaper one. I hope this helps!

We cant wait to go back!
By ,
I done a lot of research and all I have to say is that the beach is georgeous, the staff is outstanding and the food is very good! I was scared when I read some reviews but I now realize that some people are never happy. I am very picky when it comes to service and food and I can tell you that the Iberostar is wonderful. There is a lot of different food so if you dont like something then I promise you can go somewhere and find something you like. If you are complaining about the food here then you are probably the person who complains about everything and not a happy person! No you dont have to get up at 7am to get a spot on the beach and you dont have to get up at 7am to make dinner reservations- looking back after reading some of the review I realize some people have nothing better to do! We slept until 10am everyday and still had a lot of spots on the beach! Have fun relax- and I promise you will have a blast. It's beautiful and if you tip well- I PROMISE YOU THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU! We took $100 in ones (dont take 5,10,20's it's hard to find american dollar change) my husband and I were treated like royalty. But if you dont really talk to the staff and dont treat them nice then dont expect to be treated with the same respect. These people work so hard to make us happy on vacation! They work 12 days from 6am until midnight then they go home for 3 days to spend off the resort with their familys. The average income is $100-$150 a month the wealthy make $300 a month. It makes you appreciate where you come from. We met so many people from all over the world! I read how the Europeans were so rude- not the only people we had get rude to us were Amercian (go figure). Keep in mind Spanish is the primary language but with patience you can overcome all the language barriers! We never felt so safe and comfortable. The Sanoa Island tour is an abosolute must- Yes Elvis is still alive. If you dont do anything on your trip you must go to this island. It is absolutely amazing and an expereince you will never forget!

Majestic(pronounced My-estic!)
By ,
The resort was a blast. The view was unprecedented! I visited for a romantic gettaway with my girlfriend and enjoyed every minute of it. The food was great, the entertainment was great, the staff was more than accommodating to us also. There was a slight language barrier you have to overcome but its nothing a $2 tip wont take care of! Take plenty of $1 bills with you and be prepared to have fun! Bring your favorite candy($2.50 for a snickers bar) Bottle of wine/alcohol($7 Jack and most american liquors) Wash cloths Rechargeable batteries

Majestic was Great!!!!
By ,
The majestic was very nice. Definitely 5 star. The resort was beautiful. Very romanitc. Not a whole lot to do though. Casino is very small. Lots of food choices. The lobster tail at the gourmet restaurant was excellent. The Japanese restaurant gives you a ton of food. The buffets have a large variety to choose from. The mixed drinks were very good. The majestic drink was the best. Mama Juana is a very strong island drink, like a shot. The resort has NO preumium brand liquors or American beer, only Presindente which is the island beer. This is a resort for rommantics. If you are going with the hopes that you will have fun then you need to book some excursions while you are there. The 4 wheeler excursion was GREAT!!! The only thing I can say is bring sun screen, bring wash cloths (they have hand towels not wash cloths), bring OFF!, and bring someone special and enjoy yourself. Definite 5 star!

it was decent
By ,
We stayed on the Punta Cana side of the resort. The food at the buffet was not that good and choices were limted. They had more cheese than hot food. Our party stayed in the suites of the resort and the room was very nice.Spacious and clean. My mom and sis were in one room and mea and my dad were in another and the power kept going out in my moms room because she had 2 blowdryers and 5 curling irons going. but hey, no electricty could withstand all that power needed! The showers in the suites were very nice. The cleaning peopledid a very nice job. The gardens in the resorts were very nice and well maintained. Beaches were ok. Water was very rough. You cant go snorkling in Punta Cana. entertaiment was awful. I went to Bahia Akumal the year before and Punta Cana could not compete with Bahia.

Tourist-friendly All-Inclusive Resort
By ,
Absolute blast, all-inclusive resort in Dominican Republic. Great food, night entertainment, plenty of night entertainment. It's amazing what a three-dollar tip can do - always fresh water, clean towels everyday.
