Do Not Waste Your $$ Here

We stayed at this location for three months while employed at Fort Calhoun Power Plant. We had our pet with us and were really looking forward to staying at this property. It sounded like they had everything to meet our extended stay needs. They advertise a fully furnished kitchen, high speed internet and many channels for our "television viewing pleasure", and much more. What we found was blood stained and torn bed linens, a filthy oven and refrigerator, a satellite internet with no bandwidth that would kick us off several times daily, and a satellite cable TV that would kick out 3-4 times a week. The television in our room was very old and the sound was so bad it had to be replaced and it's replacement was just as old with a dark screen that could not be adjusted. Before we could sleep in our bed the first night the sheets and bedspread had to be changed because of bloodstains and tears! Our blanket had a 9 inch tear in it the entire stay. The bedspread they replaced did not match the drapes in the room until I said something after two months and they changed it.
They keep the garbage cans in the first floor stairwells and every day the stench would permeate up the stairs and into our second floor room. The hallways always smelled bad and they would shut the windows when we tried to air them out. When we inquired about this, management told us they could not staff enough people to keep up with collecting the garbage from the hallway outside the rooms, so they tell everyone to put their garbage in the stairwells. They only have one garbage can in each stairway, and it would quickly overflow onto the floor. A slimy, smelly mess. The three months we were there, the garbage can nor the mat in our stairway ever got washed. Gross! They have a laundry room on the property, however two of the three washing machines were always out of order.
For being a pet friendly facility, there was no designated area to take our dog to outside. No one picked up after their dogs and there was evidence everywhere. You had to watch where you stepped right outside the exit doors.
The staff was nice enough, but always put us off when we had concerns, blaming "corporate" level for not responding to their needs. When I needed to talk with someone in the office, it seemed like they were out having a smoke. If we were not working so many hours, we would have moved by the second week. Do not waste your money on this property when there are so many others in the area that put this one to shame for less cost! Too bad- the location is great.
