They call and hang up on you
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/21/10
Summer Bay Resorts is a HUGE RIP-OFF. I am sick and tired of them calling me and hanging up on me when I say I am not interested or take me off their list, like they did TODAY. They don't remove you from their list and call again just as rude and nasty as the last person. Try calling them...forget it, you'll never get them on the phone.

nasty! dont go
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/18/09
Nice place but obviously they are not cleaning or keeping it up! The tub was brown and we had bugs. The dead bug on the table was it so they moved us and it was nicer and bugfree but the sheets were nasty and dust was every where! Don't waste your money we went somewhere else.

By John, 06/11/09
the room i stayed in had bedd bugs. the costumer services sucks. they take their time. they'll always bug you about their timeshare, which i regretly bought. you have to pay them around $400 a year regardless if you use it or not.

Read this before considering this dump
By J, 09/01/08
We exchanged through RCI for this and what a waste of our points, the number one complaint I had is the beds were ancient and so hard I had the worst week of my life just coming in from disney every night to a horrible nights sleep and thats no joke read other reviews. Also my kid found condoms under the bed, we found laundry in the room that cleaners missed, nasty brown scum came out of jet tubs and the hot water failed 2 days in a row. The pools were filthy with no easy towel access without going to clubhouse. The place was just not maintained well at all. As owners of a timeshare in Myrtle Beach this place is no where near worth the money or points you spend. also there were bugs and in condos which are 249 a night you take out your own trash and wash your own towels and have no housekeeping at all unless you pay extra so plan on a ton of laundry to do in a itty bitty washer.

Will never return!
I thought this was going to be a great vacation, learn about the possibilities of ownership with Summer Bay Resorts, relaxation, fun, etc. But, after a tour and a lengthy conversation it ended with the salesman yelling at me, and telling my husband how worthless he was for not purchasing a timeshare. Too top it off, in our package deal, they wouldn't give us directions to the next destination. I think they were upset we didn't purchase, and tried to make the second part of the vacation horrible. Little do they know, the next company proceded to tell us how unprofessional Summer Bay resort is, and accomodated us after hours because Summer Bay refused to give us directions to our next destination. I would recommend not purchasing anything from them because of their high pressure sales tactics, and the verbal abuse they use toward their "guests" when they don't want to buy into the resort. Finally, after making a formal complaint I was told "sorry for the inconvenience."

Love Summer Bay Resort, but not the staff
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/29/08
Summer Bay is a beautiful resort, just close enough to the parks to enjoy, but far enough away to be out of the hustle and bustle of Orlando! Pools and Lake are wonderful, staff could work on friendliness and service though! What ever happened to customer service? This staff certainly didn't know anything about service!

better than average, but...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/08
My husband and I were given a weeks stay at the resort from friends who have their timeshare through summer bay. lets just be honest: pros: the pool-awesome temperature, beautiful views of the lake and sunset, bar right on site if thats your interest the rooms: we had a two bedroom and one had a jacuzzi tub which is awesome. the whole place was spacious cons: we said that we would go to a timeshare presentation but didnt go at the last minute because of scheduling conflicts. as a result, they called our room everyday thereafter at 8:00 am! i couldnt believe it! let it go! the beds: the last two nights my husband and i actually had to sleep apart to try and get a good night sleep (and we are practially newlyweds, so you know its bad). they were so uncomfortable i felt like a 70 year old woman. next time if we had to go back we would bring padding or something grounds keepers: i would think that a resort where people are vacationing would not start doing groundswork until most people are awake. like clockwork, at 8:00 a.m. (around the time of our daily phone call) they were mowing the lawn by our room. very disappointing. distance: you are further away from all the attractions that most motel/hotel you can stay at. so if it is important to you to stay close, this would not be your first choice. all in all, we are thankful for the free accomodations, but wouldnt recommend this place to someone who had to pay.
