Sunset Inn and Suites, Maryville

I stayed here for my college graduation. For starters while checking in: when people would call he would not nicely ask then to call back or take a message. Yell for them them to "CALLL BACK 30 MINUTES, I BUSY!" Then when my aunt asked for more pillows because there were her and her 3 girls (totally understandable). He said " you not the only one here". So my mom went down to see if she could get some. She got yucky used ones, so she said these aren't clean. He said "U SHOW ME DIRT!" So we decided to just sleep on what? I wasn't sure... next morning (excited to graduate) go to shower. No water.ran dow to mom and dads room. No water. Hysterical. We had to ask. No lie!

We got a room here because the others were full and it was 12:30. Had stayed here when it was Microtel and was ok then. Ants were crawling up the side of the shower and found lots of cobwebs around beds. Boxsprings were stained and towels had stains as well. Our room was non'smoking but my daughter couldn't sleep because she kept complaining about the smell. It wasn't worth ten dollars let alone what they charged.

Have stayed here multiple times. Always found them very curteous and helpful. Rooms clean, though maybe worn in places. Excellant showers- good flow, hot water and showers heads placed at good height, (those over 5'5" don't have to duck to shower!) Breakfast is as advertised - continental! For what I need, A place to shower and sleep when attending functions at the college with my child, this is more than adequate! Sure I have stayed in fancier places, I have also found some far worse! For my needs, the cost and hometown friendliness, this one is tops.

Likes: The room was fairly clean, beds adequate. Internet was good. Dislikes: Towels and washcloths were worn and looked very dirty. This motel obviously runs on a very, very tight budget. Deadbolt lock didn't work on our door, room could certainly have been cleaner, but very little effort goes into this as this motel seems to be understaffed. Very small T.V., air conditioner not adequate, non-smoking room smelled like smoke, paprika and other spice smells fill the air, sheets and bed clothes very worn, no refrigerator, no in-room coffee, and don't even think about the continental breakfast--eat out instead, you will thank yourself. Coffee in dining area was in an old carafe that looked dirty and old. We tried to make a long distance call from room: not even an option--even with a deposit! This is a big deal to those of us without cell phones! People at front desk very difficult to understand, although they were very helpful. I would NOT recommend this motel to others. For the same price, you can certainly do much better.

I live in Maryville and have always put my family up in this hotel. Although it has changed its name a couple of times, the quality has remained good. It has great rooms at a great price. The only downfall for families with children is that there is no pool. My parents are ok with no pool! :) The location is on the outside of town, but if you have ever been to Maryville, that is only 3 miles to the main part of town...not that far.
