Viva Wyndham Maya Resort All-Inclusive, Playa del Carmen Centro

i dont get why people are saying bad things about this place it looks amazing im going next year with the rest of mmy family for 2 weeks

VIVA Wyndham Maya is a really good Hotel in the Playa Del Carmen, Playacar area. Most of the employees at this resort were very nice and went out of their way to make sure you had every thing you need. The desk service folks still need a little work on Customer Service. Only had to deal with them at check in and Check out. The food was average, compaired to other all-inclusive hotels. The drinks and bar Service is one of the best. Great bar tenders, Eder, Antonio, Omar and others are by far the most friendly folks at this Hotel. The bars served every thing from Milk, coffee, juice, soda, beer, mixed drinks and were open every morining at 6am. House Keeping worked really hard keep the rooms spotless. We stayed here for 7 nights, July 17 -24th, 2009. Did not want to leave and will go back.

The staff was excellent. They allowed you to do as little or as much as you wanted. The ability of the staff to remember names was excellent. There was an assortment of events that gave everyone an opportunity to do something they liked. The beach and pool area were very nice. This resort might have the nicest beach area on that particular stretch. Even the beach was cleaned every morning. The buffet restaurant was very good, and the reservation restaurant food was fabulous. The waiters always had a smile on their faces. It looked like they really enjoyed what they were doing. We would definitely be willing to come back here again. The dessert spread on Christmas Eve was unbeleivable. Cudos to everyone involved.

We liked the Viva Maya so much we bought a timeshare there. Fantastic beach, great food, wonderful entertainment and beach activities. Downtown is within walking distance. We have been going here now for five years and will continue at this wonderful resort.

We were happily surprised we got what we paid for, and enjoyed every minute of it. food was good, selection was good. we stayed 2 weeks, and enjoyed the a la carte resteraunts immensely - international stds ! The beach was the best of them all in Jan 2008. They are working hard and rebuilding it to it's pre-majestic nature. You will find wonderful pockets of that perfection though if you travel to the north playa ( the Royal ) or south playa ( playacar ) . the cappucinos were awesome !!! nice mix of international peoples.

To say that we like Viva Wyndham Maya would be an understatement. We first visited the resort in September, 2006 for 8 days and we absolutely loved everything about it. We loved it so much that we booked it again for September, 2007 for 9 days. It was even better the second time. I guess we hadn't had enough fun yet because we just went again for 6 days in October, 2007. We are already planning to return in January, 2008 for some more fun. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean and the resort is very well taken care of. The nightly entertainment/shows are top notch. I myself have had the opportunity to dance in many shows with the dancers. They work very hard to give you a entertaining show night after night. Some of the shows are....Grease, Moulin Rouge, Madonna, Michael Jackson, The 70's show, Hollywood, Las Vegas Show, Comedy Show and much more. Like I said, The entertainment is TOP NOTCH!!! The entertainment staff also runs numerous games and daily activities for everyone to enjoy. Viva Wyndham Maya is an incredible place to vist that everyone should experience. Trust me when I say that you WILL not regret it!

the food variety was not very good. front desk staff was very rude and not helpful,are room had no safe, was not stocked with water or soda like it was supposed to be,

My wife and I stayed at this resort hotel while visiting the area for a week. If you need a place that is centrally located for easy access to the region's attractions, the Playacar district is ideal. It is very close to Playa del Carmen and located directly across from Cozumel. It's about ten minutes to the ferry to the island and not far from lots of other things to do. We set up diving trips with the resort's dive shop to a reef off the coast of Playa del Carmen, a couple dives at Cozumel, and a couple cenote cavern dives. We also visited the Tulum Ruins, the Xel Ha eco-park, and the Playa del Carmen shopping district. All the trips were setup through the resort at pretty good prices that included transportation, tickets, and meals. We love all-inclusive places. The food was excellent. Within a week we had sampled each of the reservation-required restaraunts and loved them all. The Mediterranean one was probably our favorite but the Mexican one really gave it a run for the money. The buffet is also fantastic. We did have a minor plumbing problem with the room, but we moved to another room and enjoyed the rest of our stay. This was our second Viva resort (the other was in the Bahamas) and we think it's a great value for the inclusive service. This was a very enjoyable trip and we are already trying to decide where we'll vacation next.

My mom, my boyfriend, and I all stayed at Viva Wyndham Maya on July 9 for two weeks. It was the first time that we had been to Mexico and we absolutly loved it. Viva was by far the best hotel around. We went and walked up the beach to see all the other hotels and we felt that ours was definitly the most fun and coziest out of all of them. Ours always had more going on. The staff at Viva Maya were more than we could ask for. They were extremely friendly and nice and they went out of their way to talk to you all the time.. Me and my boyfriend became great friends with the bartender Rangel who was fabulous. When we left at the end of the two weeks we were all almost near tears thinking that we were leaving behind friends. The food at the place was awesome and it was always clean and there was always a variety of things to choose from. Every night they had a different theme with differnet foods. We never went hungry and always had yummy breakfasts when we woke up. The beach was amazing. Like nothing we had ever seen before. It was pure white sand and blue green turqoise water that was only a little cooler than the bath tub. At the hotel they also had all kinds of free activites going on during the day such as dancing, and spanish lessons! Every single night there were nightly shows which were so fun and entertaining to watch. The staff actually performed the dances themselves. They did a wonderful job and performed shows such as Moulin Rouge, Greece, Cinderella and many more. They also had a disco every night of the week except for one night where they have a beach party instead. For a younger crowd the disco is tons of fun. My boyfriend and I are both 18 and we found that there were tons of people around our age to dance with and meet. We made a lot of friends on our vacation who we were sad to leave at the end of the weeks. I truly believe that Viva Maya is the best hotel around and it offers great deals. We have been home only three weeks and we already deeply miss it and wish we were back. We are definitly going to go back to Mexico and we will for sure stay at the Viva Maya again. There is no doubt in our minds that it was not the best hotel. They will see us again! Definitly FIVE STARS!!!!... P.S If someone sees the little three-legged cat, please give him some food. We found him to be very hungry and very sweet. My mom did not want to leave him because she was afraid that he wouldn't be fed.

My holiday in Viva Wyndham maya hotel, Playacar was amazing! Me and my family had the time of our lives. I am 13 and there was so much to do for kids! I was expecting the Kids Club activities to be all things for little kids but they weren't. Nearly everyday there was a kids water polo competition in the pool and loads of other fun things for me and my friends to do. The staff were extremely friendly - every single person would always try their best to make your holiday as relaxing as possible for you. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and had a good air-conditioning system which you really need! The location of the hotel is great - just across the road from some T-shirt and souvenir shops and only a 10 minute drive away from Playa del Carmen with a fixed taxi charge of only $5. I would love to go back to this hotel again and would recommend it to any family with kids any age as there are always things going on for everyone to join in with!
