Horrible, horrible, horrible service
The Charleston Harbor Resort is a case of false advertising. The resort was indeed beautiful and our rooms lovely, but the poor service and lack of advertised features was unacceptable. They advertise pool bars and tiki bars, which they have but weren't in operation. The beautiful pool had about 20 lounge chairs, which meant guests were fighting for space every day. They have swim towels for you, yes, but they are the size of hand towels. And last but not least, the horrible, horrible, horrible. service. We asked for an early check in, we did not receive it. In fact, our rooms weren't ready until after 4. We asked several times for the broken door in our bathroom and broken light to be fixed, it never was. At 9am, we asked for our room to be cleaned early because we had no towels or toilet paper. As of 3pm, it was still not cleaned. We asked the concierge for help, a question which annoyed her to no end. We asked for the location of some antique stores, to which she eventually gave us a name. Upon arriving at this store, we discovered the store was closed - not for the day, but was no longer in business. The breakfast buffet was $16 a person, and all of the food (of which there was very little to start with) was gone and took over a half hour to replace. Once we got the food, it took another half hour to get silverware. We met, literally, one person in the staff who spoke english. One. Overall, I would highly recommend choosing another hotel. Horrible, horrible, horrible.
