Will never go back!
Based on other reviews, the quality of this motel must have greatly declined. I had read reviews online, and wanted to put one up to not let people have the same terrible experience as us. Our online reservations were the only part of our one night visit without issues. Upon check-in, we were given keys for the correct room, but they were put in the incorrect paper sleeve (a simple mistake). After trying to reset the room lock, the keys were reprogrammed for the incorrect room (which we didn't yet know about) and were told that we held them too close to our cell phone which must have inactivated them. While moving in, we noted that the room was unclean. There were no towels, and the remote for the TV did not work. Another guest, who was supposed to be in that room, then entered the room. We ended up going back to the office to straighten the matter out. Our cards were reprogrammed to the original room number, and we moved our belongings again. The second room was also dirty. It too did not have any towels, as well as no toilet paper or soap bars. It is to be noted that different people cleaned and supposedly "inspected" the first and second rooms. We were informed that there were no clean towels, so we would have to come back later to get them. The towels that we picked up were extremely stained, as were the sheets. One of the towels had what was a suspicious-looking dark curly hair sticking out of it when I unfolded them to hang them up. The following morning when we checked out, we were unable to find an employee. Even though we arrived to check out at 8:45, and the posted hours began at 8am that morning. According to the posted sign, the employee may have been out on the grounds. I proceeded to call the 3 separate numbers on the courtesy phone as well as calling the listed number on my cell phone and numerous attempts at knocking, with no response. I finally ended up writing our information on a napkin and leaving the keys there. So we left, without knowing if we would appropriately be checked out and with no receipt. I understand that this motel was inexpensive and no 5 star hotel. I, however, assumed this was due to not providing some standard amenities (eg hairdryers, shampoo, pool, ice machine, daily turndown service, etc.). I never thought based on the information and online pictures when I made the reservation that the service would be so disorganized and the rooms would be so dirty. I refused to even take my socks off, and all of the clothes we wore in the room came home in plastic bags and will stay there until they are washed. This was our first visit to KC for a football game, and we will never, ever stay at this place again!
