One of my worst hotel experiences ever
By Joe, 2/29/12
I depend a great deal on functioning internet, and the hotel promised it (and included it in the cost of our conference rate rooms). For four days, I never had functioning internet service from the hotel. The worst part is that everyone at the hotel KNOWS that their internet does work properly. They put me in three different rooms over four days, each time saying the wireless signal would be better. The final room was chosen so that I would have ethernet (wired) service. Even THAT would not work. While I was on the phone with a tech support person, the call was cut off because the in-room phone had faulty wiring. Tech support kept contacting the front desk staff, and each gave me contradictory stories about what was going on. The last two nights were awful because of street noise (music and partying) in the neighborhood and from events going on in the hotel directly under my room. The staff did nothing but say they were sorry, and that they were upgrading the internet in the months to come. No solution, no offer of compensation, NOTHING. I would NEVER stay a this hotel again.

Love this place!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/16/08
We live only about 20 minutes out of Portland, but my husband and I love to stay at the downtown Embassy Suites Hotel a couple of times a year. The rooms are great, service is wonderful and the manager's reception and buffet breakfast are added treats. We enjoy heading out to catch the MAX and do a little shopping downtown or at the Lloyd Center and we walk to Portland Saturday Market when we stay in the summer. It's a fantastic place to be. We have stayed numerous times and have yet to be disappointed. Can't wait for our next "getaway"!

Visiting Portland Or? Stay here...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/30/08
"The Old Lady of 4th Ave" is a great hotel to stay at. With masses of history and all the old grandeur and grace of the early 1900's remain, you can't help but feel you're staying some where special. Great hospitality and spotlessly clean throughout, this hotel is throughly recommended. Embassy Suites - Keep this hotel just as it is!

Loved the pillows.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/15/06
My boyfriend booked us a room and dinner at the Portland Steak and chophouse last week. It was a wonderful stay. Pillows were heaven. Coffee is not so great. Bathroom was small. There should be validated free parking for guests. The only thing annoying was the receptionist. I was about to interupt her and tell her to slow down. She was a fast talker but obviously not a very smart one. Like an empty can that reverberates.

Go again, soon
By Leah, 10/4/05
Easy to get to, downtown location, easy mass transit or walking. Downtown is clean, pretty and feels safe. Can't beat the Embassy Suites breakfasts and cocktail hour!

Best service ever.
By Chuck, 10/1/05
This place is what excellant service is about. Going out of their way for their clients is the norm. Can't wait to go back! Their restaurant's food was the best. Service was perfect +.
