Filthy bath AND surly front desk

I would give this hotel a 0 star rating if I could. The shower curtain was full of black mold spots, the toilet seat was broken making it somewhat tricky and dangerous to sit on. Reported both issues to the front desk. I even draped a corner of the shower curtain over the tub to alert housekeeping. Next day, the part of the curtain that I had draped over the tub was slightly cleaner - there were still mold spots - the rest was left as is. The toilet had not been fixed. When I reported back to the front desk, I was told that housekeeping was gone for the day and that she (the surly one) certainly couldn't go up our room to clean it herself.
Long story short, neither issue was resolved when we checked out 3 days later. I was able to speak to the manager who was very nice and offered a gift certificate but only good for that hotel. The room had this 'Holiday Inn Hospitality Promise' that stated that they would pay for part of the stay if they fail to resolve problems during our stay. What a bunch of crock!
I emailed Corporate twice and never even received an acknowledgement let alone a response. I will continue hounding them until I get a response. I will also provide this review to all review sites I can find. In the meantime, avoid this hotel - there are a number of others to choose from at Ocean Shores!
