Stress free vacation with kids
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/24/11
From the min I called for reservations I felt welcomed and respected as a costumer. The desk lady (Megan) went above and beyond to help find me the best deal and get tickets to the vista for our family. At check in everything was at the front desk waiting for me. The pool was warm n very kid friendly. The view is awesome and the rooms felt like I was at home in a clean environment. All walking distance from the exciting hustle n bustle of duluth's canal park.

Very disappointed!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/22/11
We had a nice couple days away from our kids for our 3rd anniversary and thought The Inn seemed like a nice location to walk the shops and canal park and the outdoor pool on the rooftop is what made our decision to stay there, but we were very disappointed after we got there to walk into the terrible terrible smell that filled the hotel...we mentioned it to the frontdesk service person, and she said she had no idea what it was...later we found out it was some carpet cleaning or something..it was very nauseating!!! Also we had gotten a jacuzzi suite in our room and we never got a chance to even use it cause we had filled the tub up and went to turn the jets on and out sprayed all kinds of gross black hair and dirt that filled the tub. Very much ruined our evening stay!!!! So much for a romantic getaway that happens only once in a blue moon. To top it all off, a couple days later ...I was doing our checkbook and noticed they had overcharged us!! I called them to discuss the overcharges and they said we had rented to movies on our room, which we NEVER did!!!!! Very Very much a disappointing stay and experience for us and we will never be returning there again!!!!

Best hotel in Duluth!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/3/10
My husband introduced me to the Inn since his family has been coming here for many years. We've visited many, many times and always look forward to returning. Not only is the view spectacular, but the rates are reasonable too (considering your view and beautiful room). All you need for food, entertainment and shopping is within walking distance or a short drive away. We've been there for family trips, holidays and even a romantic getaway. I can't wait to go back and introduce Duluth and the Inn to our daughter.

Awesome hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/26/10
I was up in Minnesota for my dad's 51St Fighter Interceptor Wing Reunion for the Air Force with my dad. This hotel was fantastic. I loved every minute we were there. The view from the balcony was unreal. I love being by water and if you want this view you have to stay here. The fun of them making smores every night and hot dogs for us was something you will never see at another hotel. Fantastic service and great views. No one will be disappointed if you stay here.

Wonderful customer service!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/2/10
We had reservations for May 30th and 31st to help move our daughter to another residence. This is our second trip to the Inn and I cannot say enough about their friendly staff. Our room was big with the balcony on the lake side and of course, the lake sells itself! On our last day we had an issue with traveling back to southern Minnesota with a trailer full of things and one of the managers, Ryan, went over and above to help us out. I can't thank him enough for his help with our moving issue and though we didn't spend nearly enough time there as it was kind of a working trip, Ryan was absolutely the fitting end to the weekend. Can't wait to plan the next trip!

Will definitely come back!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/16/09
We showed up on July 3rd and was able to get a lakeview room with a balcony. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was so nice and the view was fantastic. Could sit on the balcony and watch the ships come in, the people on the walk way and the carriage rides go by. The smores in the evening was so nice. On this weekend The Inn grilled brats for the guests also. What a nice surprise! We were so accessible to everything in Canal Park and how nice to walk to view the Fireworks on the 4th and walk back to room! The only thing that was a disappointment was the unavailability of the bikes to ride. They were free so we couldn't really complain. We are definitely looking forward to going back!

Our Favorite!
By Matt, 6/7/09
The Inn on Lake Superior is not the most inexpensive place to stay in Duluth, but in terms of what you get for your money, it's the king. The staff is excellent, polite and helpful. The facility is well kept and the breakfast is fantastic, as are the s'mores in the evenings. Our room had a view of the lake, and it was perfect for people-watching as well as the gorgeous view of Lake Superior and ships entering and leaving the harbor. It's close to many of the waterfront districts unique shopping venues. The only somewhat dark spot on this stay were the pools: The roof outdoor pool had a little insect surprise that my wife and kids did not appreciate (a roach of some kind sharing the pool with them) and the indoor pool had some wierd precipitate and several unpleasant clumps of hair floating around. This was not the case during our other trips, and given the quality of the facility, I am certain it was a unlucky, transient event.

The very best in Duluth!
By Terry, 10/25/08
The Inn on Lake Superior goes way beyond just offering a place to stay. While the beds were very comfortable, the room spacious, the TV huge, and the view spectacular, it was all the little things that really added to the charm. Toasting the provided marshmallows over an open flame, then making "S'mores"; great shower products, super location - within walking distance to unique shops and nice restauraunts; very freindly staff; warm pool; and descent breakfast all add up to one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in (I've spent hundreds of nights in hotels over the years...).
