Was this the best there was?
Traveling to Del Rio on business I felt like I was going to the end of the earth. I have concluded that there are no good local resturants in that town, so stick with the national chains, but that is a different review.
The hotel was OK for a working stiff who is looking to stay under budget. Located near the edge of town, it wasn't difficult to find and there was plenty of parking. I considered using the swimming pool but my sense of hygeine got the better of me. Room was nothing special, bed was firmer than I like, pillows sucked. The A/C was not on when I got into the room and it took several hours to cool the room. Good selection of TV. Strangely, the light over the sink had to be turned on so the lamps by the bed would have power, this precluded waking up early and turning on a lamp by the bed so you could find your way around the room.
Hotel looked like it had receintly been renovated and painted, in fact you could still smell the paint but even with a new coat of paint it still showed some wear.
Staff was friendly enough. WiFi worked most of the time but took some coaxing and switching of channels to get it to work all the time. Breakfast was a little below average.
However, this place looked the best of several that were in town.
