Impromtu New Year Getaway 2008-2009

My wife and I took a small getaway and basically chose Hampton Inn based on free credit card points, but we were pleasantly surprised. We added and changed some things about the reservation that proved to be no problem at all. We added a night and was a given a rate that was better than online. The room was roomy and clean (no refrigerator). There were fresh cookies and manager's reception in the evening, which was great. The cleaning staff was not beating on the door at 9 am trying to clean. They gave us plenty of space and attention when needed. Lastly, we only stayed two nights but would have stayed more if we didn't have to leave. Definitely would stay again. My wife wants me to add that the bathroom mirror was awesome. Angled to see all the way around.

Renovation Made A Difference

Wow... I have stayed at this hotel several times but not for about 1.5 years. The hotel was getting a bit old, so when I stayed there for 3 nights recently, I was surprised by all the difference that the renovations made. My room had new furniture and new towels/sheets/toiletries. The breakfast area looked redone and the menu items were different and better. They even added a flat screen TV in the lobby to replace the old television I remember which used to be dim. Great job on the renovations means that I can definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

Wonderful surprise

This Hampton Inn is the best one I have ever datayed in. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are gorgeous. The free manager's reception and breakfast can't be beat!

Comfort-less

I had a three nights stay recently. The facility looks nice and the staff provided good customer service. However, the room was very uncomfortable. The AC was not working properly and the room was very warm at night. We reported it the first night and was told it was fixed. That was not the case and the next two nights were just as uncomfortable as the first night. The bathroom was very small and there were no towel racks. The only place we could place towels was on the edge of the tub, toilet seat or lid, or the floor. That was a huge turn off for me. Other than the problems with the AC, and the bathroom, the facility was nice. I am not going to assume that all rooms are the same. I would recommend this hotel to a friend if they are able to check out the room and AC/heater in advance.

Needs improvement

Hampton Inn has been a favorite of our family for some time. This was not a good experience for us. The service was excellent but the comfort of the room was not. First, we were given a handicap room. There was not a chair other than the desk chair in which to sit. After inquiring about obtaining a chair, it was at this point we were told this was a handicap room. We were then moved to another room, which was a better location, but no chair available there either. At this point we were told this hotel does not have extra chairs in the room, only the desk chairs! Also bath towel were not soft. Very scratchy and irritating to the skin. I certainly hope this was an isolated incident with this particular stay. No rate discount either from downgrading from King to Queen.
