Best Western Airport Inn and Suites, Brook Park

What we liked... Very close to the IX Center, Not far from Cleveland attractions, easy on-off access to I-71. What we didn't like... No hot water, key card machine didn't work, not easily handi-cap accessible from parking lot to hotel entrance. When I say no hot water, I don't mean it was lukewarm. It was cold -- -C-O-L-D! They told us about the water at check-in, but said it would be fixed within a few hours. They needed to get a part. Then, after we paid for our rooms, the front desk clerk said the key card machine wasn't working. He couldn't give us keys to our room right away. It would take hime some time to "fix" the machine. We had had reservations for a while, and didn't want to drive around trying to find another hotel, so we decided to stay. After about 30 minutes, we finally got our room keys. Throughout the night we kept checking the water, but it was always cold. Needless to say, we were unable to take showers the next day. :( At checkout, we let them know how unsatisfied we were. To their credit, they did refund a portion of our room fee.

The hotel reeks of smoke from the moment you enter the lobby. Our room is allegedly non-smoking, surrounded by other allegedly non-smoking rooms. It reeks of cigarette smoke, which is seeping into the room from the hallway. There is also a bonus dirty q-tip on our floor. A lovely experience all around!

It was convienient to the airport. The pool was nice. The rooms were clean and well kept. The parking is a little on the sparce side and not real convienient. The staff was very helpful.

We checked in around 11:30 pm. The receptionist was very helpful, friendly, and professional. She went above and beyond in helping me to find a pizza that late. The breakfast was very nice and replacements was readily available. I very much enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone.

Overall a good place and location. The room was not the cleanest and the breakfast seemed to be lacking choices and freshness.

I am in the hotel business so am far more critical than most. The staff was VERY accomodating and friendly.Airport shuttle was very prompt and even detoured to convenience store for us passengers to buy cigarette lighters!! Although the property is older, it is well maintained. Only problem was frosted coverings on windows because hotel backs into residential area, giving claustrophic feeling.

My son and I were going to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame so the wife and daughter were 'stuck' at the hotel. Before we left, the daughter and I swam in the very nice pool and relaxed in the heated hot tub...gotta get me one! It was very convenient to the highway and restaurants. Desiree at the desk was very responsible when we told her about a plugged toilet -she fixed it herself. We would not hesitate to stay there again. We are planning a trip throught DC, New York, and Boston and we will be looking for Best Western's to stay in.

Ice in parking lot not cleared out from week before. Swimming pool out of commission. Breakfast was just fair.
