Studio City Courtyard Hotel, Studio City

Stain on bedding, and floors, very old bathroom, and small room.

I stayed at this hotel on a recent trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. The location is great as it is just 2 miles from the entrance of the park. The hotel is very old, the fixtures in room looked like it was atleast 15 to 20 yrs old, but fortunately none of the taps leaked and everything was working. The A/C in the room was old and noisy too. The room size was big, I was happy that I got a free upgrade from 2 Queen bed room to two king bed room, it really helped with a party of four adults. The free breakfast is a misnomer, but atleast there's free coffee. This hotel is definitely in need of a major renovation overall. Would only recommend it to budget conscious people looking for a room to spend the night, great location though.

This place is run by the usualy indian people who speak limited english. Upon checking in I was asked if I was going to be checking out that same night, just because I am a woman they must assume I was there for only one thing.. what an insult. Then one of my business partners came the next day and she was charged a lower rate than me which I found out 2 days later they ripped me off about 20 bucks a night! I then decided to sty my final day in my friends 2 bed suite and while she was out they told me I had to leave right then or they were calling the police, because I was not a registered guest, not to mention I had just spent about 400.00 3 days prior, I travel to alot of hotels this was by far the worst, I couldn't even get my room serviced while I was there and I had to get my own soap and towels!! Beware this place.

I disliked the fact that it was not clean. The coffee pot still had coffee in it from the last guest and was spilled all over the top of the counter. My husband found a worm in his bed.

The staff was indifferent. Barely any eye contact with customers. TV remote did not work. Went to the office to get new batteries...still did not work. Bed was soft, pillows, too. Our room had been painted so many times, there were layers of paint on the walls and especially the woodwork. The bathroom was a mishmash of poor quality materials. All together, the place was in need of a good cleaning (instead of just painting over the dirt.) And a friendly staff would help, as well. Location was good.

Very rude. It seemed like we were putting them out by asking for info and just trying to check in. They said that my confirmation that I printed meant nothing - it was just a piece of paper. They were overbooked and trying to keep us from check-in

An excellent location -- easy to Hwy 101 via Coldwater Canton, decent restaurants, a Starbucks and even a Ralph's grocery within an easy walk (all less than a block). Room supplies were well-maintained during my 2 days. Breakfast had cereal, OJ, and coffee (not gourmet, however). Parking tight but not a problem. I'd stay again (unless I had a lot more money to spend).

Value for money,with a better rate when staying for more than 2 nights.Pool sufficient,plenty of eating places nearby and a Ralphs supermarket across the road.Staying gave us extra bucks in the pocket.Popular at weekends so it is advisable to book early.
