Hotel la Closerie, Beaune

We stayed in this small, but comfortable hotel which is located on a road, carpeted with acres of grapevines, on the way to Autun and other interesting, medieval villages; an ideal location as a base for our local travels. The moment we entered the foyer (quite small but pleasant) we were met by a very cheerful and attentive staff, who immediately helped to make our stay a comfortable one. A small living room, with internet access and bar, was located nearby, which was there to help soothe our travel weariness away. The rooms were comfortably proportioned, not too big, nor were they too small; and they were very clean. Breakfasts were typically European, good and substantive. When we return to Beaune, this hotel is where we will stay.
