Sad day at the beach
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/13/07
I was shocked at how misleading this place was. I made reservations from the 'web for an "ocean view" room. The room's ocean view was a tiny bathroom window in the back of the unit. The front window faced the highway. The room that was pictured on the internet, with lovely vaulted ceilings and fireplace was actually the LOBBY. I don't mind "oregon rustic." I'm not a snotty elitist - in fact, I don't like the high-end corporate hotel experience. But c'mon. . .at least be somewhat honest in your advertising. By the way, the door to our room did not latch properly, and it flew open in the middle of the night as a storm was coming in. With all of these distractions, and a lumpy bed to sleep in, it was NOT a restful weekend. When we tried to talk to the managers, they were disintereste in making it right.

Great Place All 'Round
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/30/05
This place was closed for a while, but now it's reopened with new ownership and i found it to be the same compfy place it was before. It's at the end of town and thats good as far as I'm concerned because it's quiet. Good family place and the new manager is friendly and willing to help in any way to make the stay enjoyable. No, it's not a "new" place, but I think the litle bit of Oregon rustic that it has helps the atmosphere of the beach and it is a very relaxing weekender!

Serenity by the Sea
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/13/05
I love this place. It is really nice for a single person travelling alone or a couple who want to get away from the average busy beach town atmosphere. Tucked away towards the end of seven miles of beautiful beach; you can stroll along and not come into contact with another soul, always a plus in my book. The wine tasting is fun aand the inn keepers are very welcoming. Sitting in the outdoor hot tub with a great ocean view is something I treasure. It's a great place for those who harken back to a more nostalgic period.

Great Value
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/1/05
We had 2 private bedrooms and the living room couch for 3 sleeping areas, which was nice for privacy. The space is small, but it has a kitchen unit, too. Very good value for what you get. Right on the beach. But Rockaway is way away from about anywhere!
