What a dump
By ,
The hotel looks looks like a converted office building. TV and phone are extras! We had to pay for breakfast. For the money drive to Vegas and stay in a La Quinta for less. Overpriced with a poor value for the money.

Horrible service - Don't stay here!
By ,
We stayed at the Eureka using a gift certificate. We upgraded to a suite and paid $100 to do so. There were 4 of us so we needed to use the queen bed and the sofa bed in the suite. We called the front desk 3 times to request extra bedding and pillows for the sofa bed and didn't get any. The 3rd time we called, we were actually told that we were not going to get any extra bedding/pillows because we had used a gift certificate. We were shocked that they would use the gift certificate as an excuse to give us poor service. We ended up splitting up the bedding on the bed so there was one sheet and either a blanket or a comforter on each bed. One of us slept without a pillow. I was amazed at how rude and unprofessional the front desk handled our stay. I've received better service at cheaper places. We won't be back.

Stay away from this one
By ,
My wife and I stayed at the Eureka from September 19-21st. We were under the impression it was one of the better hotels in Mesquite, NV - we were wrong. Our rooms were $149 a night and I can honesty say they were not worth it. The hotel was under construction and had only a single working elevator. Our room(s) were on the 4th floor and at the opposite end of the hotel from the working elevator. Our first night was in room 457, a room with a lovely (not) view of a side road and dirt hill. This room had the most uncomfortable bed, extremely firm. I ended up sleeping on the floor. The shower pressure was very poor, you almost had to run around to catch the drops, took about 5 minutes just to get enough water in our hair to use shampoo, The toilet in this room didn't work right and it was definitely a "no frills" room. Popcorn ceilings and utilitarian furniture that looked like it was from the '70's. My wife and I were getting away for the weekend for our anniversary and I wanted to book something nice. This room was unacceptable and I got us switched to another room that had a view of the pool area. This room was a marked improvement over the first, but not very impressive for $149 a night. The outside of the hotel is pretty nice, the first impression of the front is good and the back outside area is very nicely landscaped. The pool and spa were decent and clean. The working elevator has not been inspected in some time from the certificate posted (expired in March, 2007.) Most of the staff we encountered were indifferent to us as guests, rarely smiling. We encountered a very rude security guard our first night (the 19th) when we were in the pool area. Overall, this should have been $60 -70 a night for the value. The hotel is pretty old, and I can understand the need for remodeling and construction but we couldn't help feel we were overcharged for the experience we got. Another big downside is the hotel doesn't have any online reservation from their website and we were also not able to locate it the with the major companies (Expedia, Priceline, Hotels.com) to get any lower rate. Stay away from this one unless you can get a significantly lower rate and the construction is complete.

Enjoyed Eureka
By ,
The only bad thing I can say about Eureka was the bed was to hard, other than that we enjoyed our stay. The resturant at the casino is excellent as was the casino. Everyone was very nice. No complaints at all.

Better than the other hotels in town
By ,
I, also brought in a group of over 50 people for golf in April of 06. We were treated very well and saw no bugs. I had no complaints from any of my people. After being treated like second class citizens at the Oasis for years. WE were very pleased about the way we were treated and the rooms were larger and cleaner. It is a smaller hotel and more quiet than the Oasis or Casa. The food at the buffett was as good as any other in town and the breakfasts even better. WARNING!!! only order the half order of the ham steak. It comes on it's own platter. I will be bringing my peeps back again next year as a matter of fact have already made reservations. One other thing the deal with the free drinks is really nice if you don't want to gamble and want to walk around, drink and visit.

We stopped for one night but stayed for two
By ,
We had reservations at the Virgin River Resort and we were very unhappy with the rooms so thought we would stay the 2nd night at a different hotel. We stopped at the Eureka and the manager let us go look at the rooms which were large and very clean. It did not take us long to decide that we wanted to stay at the Eureka. Good choice! The pool was large and well maintained. The grounds were beautiful. I will be going back to the Eureka.

Annual Trip!
By ,
We go to Mesquite every year in July! We like the golf, the casino and enjoy the lower prices during this time of year. We wouldn't consider staying ANYWHERE else but the Eureka. Small, friendly and it always seems like they recognize us and are glad to see us back! We have been thru the renovations and quite frankly have not been disappointed yet. The travel agents that book the pkgs are so awesome I simply send them an email and say "its that time again" and my pkg is booked and at a GREAT price (you know who you are PH!) Can't wait to see you in a month!

best place in mesquite
By ,
This is the best place in town, very clean, quiet rooms, great food in Gregory's, casino is always filled with nice people and workers are great... rooms are spacious, hotel staff friendly, asked for more pillows and they came right away... rooms have queen and king beds, their suites are better than Vegas ones... hotel is quiet and separate from Casino, but only 250 steps away and shuttle to take you there... highly recommend Pool is on the backside and quiet...computer services, Margaret Manazer.
