Very clean, comfortable resort, Wow! New fixtures and apliances everywhere! 3 flat screen TV's! Great views from the rooms and the porch was so cool to sit out on and relax. The barbeque grill area was great the grills were all new and convenient to cook out on. Pool was so nice and staff was out there cleaning every morning. Tiki bar was so much fun as well as the docks where we watched the fish and sunsets daily. People here are so nice! The staff treated us like a VIP's all week. A little far from downtown but we've been to a few sub par resorts and we had all but given up hope that a place like this existed. Thank-you so much!!!
The property was beautiful but the management service was not up to standanrds. House Keeping woke me up after I had a do not disturb sign on the door, but she claimed that she thought we were checking out.
You have to replace your own towels if you want clean ones.
Found a roach and other bugs.
Soap, Shampoo dispensers were empty and not refilled.
We were short of toilet paper, tissues.
The room was never made up.
Not able to connect to the Internet.
No complimentary tea, coffee.
You're all on your own in this one.
The condo was much bigger than we thought it would be! It had been remodeled and was beautiful .The view of the water and pool from the wrap around deck were awsome.
The Coconut Mallory is a true value for your money!
Recently made the trip to Key West for the first time in 30 years. I was very apprehensive because some of the poor reviews on various websites. This place was wonderful. Quiet, clean with friendly wecoming staff! The condos were spacious and clean. Pool areas private and clean. The marina was beautiful with a comforting breeze. Fishing was awesome off the marina. Picninc areas were spacious with great barbeques. We met wonderful people there we will never forget. If your looking to be papmered with room service this is not the place for you. If your looking for a quiet spacious condo with a balcony with incredible views of the water this is wonderful. I will definitely be heading back!
We have previously stayed at the resort in 2006 apparently after they encountered a huge hurricane that damaged that left the landscaping very drab. Upon coming back this year, it was AMAZING the difference! The grounds are beautifully landscaped full of tropical plants and flowers, ponds and fountains. The marina has been updated and is perfect for docking your own boat. The boat house which used to be a bar though it doesn't have a bartender they have updated the area and made it into a clubhouse, equipt with TV's, pool table, foos ball plenty of seating and a BYOB policy. I think Key West has enough bars, one is not needed on site especially when you can bring your own. The staff was friendly and helpful. My condo was clean, updated except for the carpets, which I believe the resort was in the process of putting new carpet down. I can't wait to come back to the resort next year! After reading the many reviews and being from Florida I think that people need to research the area and tropical bugs that cannot be helped, because I loved my stay at the resort!
After our flight from Michigan to Miami and then the 3+ hour drive to Key West, I was hoping for a little quiet since we were pulling in at midnight. What we were welcomed to was our neighbors screaming, swearing and slaming doors until 2am. After the second night of the same thing from 9pm until 2am, I spoke with the person at the front desk. Not really concerned she said she would check into. After the third night I was thinking of finding a hotel, but already paid for the week. Thankfully the rest of the week was quieter.
The boat house was a nice relaxing place to sit and watch the water, boats and birds. I never saw a bar tender at the bar though. I was there everyday 3 or 4 different times and never saw anyone behind the bar or had anyone offer a drink. I'm not sure why they have it there. I'm sure not everyone has the same experience with the loud neighbors we had, or nobody would go there, but it sure the ruined the first half of our trip and with no real concern from the staff. That's why I gave the low rating.
The place was dirty upon entering so I went to front desk and asked for some cleaning supplies. The attendant didn't even offer to have anyone come clean. The beds were the worst we have ever slept on in our lives. My daughter ended up sleeping on the sofa because the pull out sofa mattress was so bad. Our bedroom had only two table lamps on it and it was very dark - even the man that came to fix the t.v. said he couldn't see in our bedroom. I called to ask if they could bring a lamp or give us a flashlight but never got a call back. The front desk attendant is not always there - very limited hours.
After reading a couple of less than stellar reviews, we were very pleasantly surprised by this resort. we found the grounds beautifully landscaped, the pools clean and nice, and the office staff helpfull and friendly. Our condo (1BR ! 1/2 BA loft) was great! (the sofa sleeper could be updated) the kitchen had all the amenities, toaster, blender, dishwasher, refrig, etc, and all were clean and modern. We especially liked that this resort is on the quieter end of key West. We were able to experience all the great attractions of Key West, and retreat to our condo after (great seafood!) dinner without the nightlife that can sbe pretty wild on Key West. (tho it was a short drive to the wild side!) there was ample off street parking, and the resort was very easy to find. for boaters, the marina seemed very nice, and was full of yachts and friendly people. I would recommend this resort to families, boaters, divers, older folks, and anyone else who wants to have noise and partying close, but have a quiet escape available, too!
My family and I had a great time here!
We visited July 2006. It was a long drive from our home in central Florida, but worth it. We liked the quiet of the location, this is more of a retreat rather than a full-on resort with lots of intensive programming, beach, and activities. There are nearby activities of all sorts in Key West, but a car or scooter is necessary. We prefer the quiet, out-of-the beaten path nature of this resort. It has two nice pools, a little dock to fish from (though we don't own a boat), and not much else. It's a short drive to Publix and a small shopping center for necessaries, but away from the Duval hubub. Thus, you must drive to pretty much everything. We had no trouble with noisy neighbors or any such. Just peaceful, relaxing quiet, just what we wanted. The staff were okay with us, and there were plenty of activity offerings, some at a discount.
Having had a timeshare for over 25 years, you really never know what you are going to get until you arrive. Having been to Key West at least 10 times, I found Coconut Mallory Resort to be a great exchange... let's face it, being in Key West is great, about 4 miles north of Duval, the resort much more than I had expected. The pictures do not do the resort justice. The tiki bar was out by the water, overlooking the marina, not much action while we were there. If I had the chance to stay there again I would. Thank you
