Kudo's to You
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/13/09
Joy, my husband Larry and I would like to thank you for your professionalism and hospitality. We have stayed at Cedars Inn for both business trips and personal trips for 12 years. It is the only lodging facility we choose to stay with when we are in the Wenatchee/East Wenatchee area. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us and our travel needs. As a Washington State employee with lots of travel stays all over the state, I can say honestly, that I always look forward to my stays with your facility. You are A-1 in our book.

Check your reservations at least 3 times!!!!
By Stop_Hate_Crimes, 9/5/08
One weekend a year a group of friends travel from Seattle area to East Wenatchee on thier motorcycles. This has become a Memorial Ride for one of the original members Shane Wyrsche, a forest service law enforcement agent who was killed by DUI 1 1/2 years ago. The group has traditionally stayed at Cedars Inn and this was my 2nd stay here. Last year went without incident, but this year was a fiasco! I originally booked the room for Friday & Saturday nights August 15-16 online through Travelnow.com via Entertainment.com back in February. I called on Wednesday to confirm my reservation for that Friday. The receptionist proceeded to tell me that they had a reservation for me but only for Friday night only. I said there must be some mistake, she checked again & said no, they had only 1 night reserved. I told her I needed Saturday night as well per my original reservation, but I was told this wasn't possible as all the rooms were booked up due to a Tom Petty concert nearby that weekend. I was horrified! I went back to seek my original email confirmation but was unable to find it. I sent e-mail to travelnow.com's customer service (the finally responded 1 WEEK AFTER MY RESERVATION!!) I called around & found a motel that just opened up 2 rooms after a remodel, that was close to the Cedars Inn,so I made a reservation for Saturday night there. I told my best friend to check on his reservation, so he called and was told they had 2 nights reserveed for him. After riding 300 miles on our motorcycles in 100 degrees we arrived to check in. The clerk Gladys handed me sign in sheet with $220 on it. I asked why I was being charged $220 for 1 nights stay, she said my reservation was for 2 nights. I told her I called on a Wednesday and was told my reservation was only 1 night & made another reservation at other hotel based on this information and regardless of my staying at the other motel, I would be charged. She said she was sorry and that she would not charge me for the Saturday night. Being road weary, I told her I understood her that she would allow me to stay 2 nights at Cedars Inn and only charge me for 1 night. She said, "No, we will cancell Sat night here and you can stay at the other motel." I told her my group was staying there & it was inconveniant for me to go to other motel when indeed I had reservation for 2 nights after all. She just shrugged her shoulders. She made no offer to compensate me for paying for 2 nights at 2 motels because of thier mis information to me! Ufffff! As all of this is going on my best friend trys to check in. But then the second clerk tells him they have no records of his reservation! He gave them the reservation # and after 2 people looking on 2 computers for 15 minutes, they finally found it. However, they weren't sure the room was actually available! The clerk had to go up to the room and make sure it wasn't occuppied! She came down & said "we'll just give you this room" I couldn't help but think some poor guy that came later missed out on a room! The motel itself is nice enough, fairly clean, quiet, and a good breakfast buffet, & close to a couple of resturants/bars, but after our experience the group as a whole is thinking about changing motels. If you make reservations, make sure you keep your number and reconfirm at least twice!!!

They need a new manager
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/10/08
My overall experince with this hotel. I have stayed recently for work. I needed a good nights sleep and requested a location off the main road as, for Im a light sleeper. The manager was rude and even befor I had the displeasure of dealing with the so called Mgr. I over heard her being very rude to some employees. A guest SHOULD NOT see that. Also, my key would not work and she proceeded to skold me and tell me that its costing money to reprogram the keys? I was happy with the room. But when I asked to speak to the manager nad was told, I was talking with her. I truly feel this woman has been there too long and or she may need to retire. Again the ck in staff was fine. But the management needs to have a attend a refresher course in mgmt. And to not be little her staff in front of guests. And, also to be a bit more kinder in her customer service title. Get her to retire. A not so happy guest with your Mgmt.

Will probably not stay again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/6/07
I selected this hotel initially because it was close to relatives in East Wenatchee. The location is great for being close to everything and the walking/biking trail along the river. But...... What I did not like was the lack of cleanliness in the room itself and the hallway carpets which were dirty and stained. The room had dirty q-tips in the garbage can when I arrived - obviously not been emptied. The water bucket still had the used plastic liner from the previous folks as well. The bathroom sink was so plugged that maintenance had to spend time working on it. I don't see how the service staff even cleaned since the water didn't even run down the drain. This should have been taken care of long before it got to this point. The rooms are in need of updating for sure and there are minimal amenities. The rooms do not have irons or ironing boards. You can go to the front desk yourself and retrieve one if they have any left. There is no internet service so not good if you are on business. Overall, it was not worth the money paid. Other hotels in Wenatchee are similar in price but more updated and cleaner unfortunately. If you just want a bed and won't be spending any time it will be okay, but for the price you can do better.

Over all was good
By Q, 7/10/07
I liked the room, it was descent for the price and location was good. Just don't leave anything behind or consider it gone. I left a cell phone charger behind, 5 hrs later called to tell them exactly where it was plugged in at and they still said they couldn't find it. Breakfast was good. When they say closing at 9:30, they really mean it. They were cleaning up even when guests were getting their food! I'm rating 1 star for service - there's no way they could not find the charger unless they like to be in a dark room.
