Travelers beware!
By ,
I just stayed at the Texas Station for four nights in October of 2009. The business practices of this place are crooked as can be. They hook you with what seem to be cheap room rates of 30.00 per night, then charge you additional fees and taxes at every turn which can easily turn that into a more than 100.00 per night stay...plus a supposedly refundable $100.00 deposit, which I never received back (-I've found this is common at the Station casinos). The rooms were rooms were clean but basic. A room with a view of the distant Strip is worth requesting. The food at the buffett was plentiful, if a overcooked. The casinos and common areas were smoky, so if you are sensitive to smoke, take care. The restaurants were decent in food quality and reasonably priced, but now tend to be franchise restaurants with little authentic Vegas style. Beware of large table service fees for parties of 6 or more in the steakhouse. Overall, I'm glad to be done with my stay at Texas Station and would not recommend this place to anyone planning a trip to Las Vegas.

What a dump
By ,
Where do I start? Room wasn't made up. Moved to another, only marginally better. Two tiny armless chairs and a stamp sized table under the A/C, ONE reading lamp for two beds. A grand total of one washcloth. A/C came on like a freight train each night so had to be turned off (in JULY). Be careful what you initial because you might be signing up for a $15 charge for internet; but WAIT, you also get a newspaper included in that. They promised a written bill detailing charges within five days; it's been three weeks. On the plus side, the steak house was great. But stay away from the hotel.

Favorite Place to Stay in Vegas!!
By ,
We first booked 12 rooms here for our daughter's wedding in February. They gave us a group rate which was amazing! We liked it so much that every time we go visit her (can't stay with her because her place is too small) we stay at Texas! Clean rooms, big bathrooms, comfy beds! Our kids love the buffet, and the daily paper has coupons for BOGO Free! And they also love the food court, especially Panda Express & Fat Burger! The bowling alley is really fun and the theater shows first run movies! Check online for internet specials first and the price comes down even further! OH, and they give you a coupon book, and I picked up an adorable hoodie at the gift shop for a discount with a coupon! LOVE IT!

Restaurants a plus
By ,
My husband stayed here for business meetings and I joined him for a long weekend. Room was pretty basic, though the beds and pillows were comfortable. Bathroom in good condition except for slow-draining sink. There were only two, rather uncomfortable chairs in the room. A more comfortable chair would have been appreciated. The restaurants that we tried were good. The Italian restaurant, San Lorenzo, was very nice and had reasonable prices. We ate several times at the Texas Cafe, which had good prices and pretty good food. All wait staff was very pleasant, as was the front desk staff. Movie theater and bowling available on-site. Outdoor pool is small. Ample parking. Easy drive to the Las Vegas Strip.

The only place to stay
By ,
Service was great the staff at the front desk where extremly helpfull. Our room was on the ground floor, clean and comfortable and a short walk to the casino,We enjoyed the food at the Texas cafe, and cafateria. We are planning another trip for the summer of 2008 and will only stay at this hotel. It was nice being away from the main strip and all the traffic, a ten minute ride was all that was needed to get to the main strip. THIS HOTEL IS THE ONLY PLACE TO STAY. The Wozniaks

Great Place to Stay
By ,
My husband and I stayed at this hotel August 12 - 15, 2007. The rooms are huge! The bathroom is Texas size. We had a very comfortable king size bed. You have to pay for wireless internet access but you can use dialup. Very friendly staff. The buffetts are excellent, especially breakfast and dinner buffets. The guy making the omelletes at breakfast knew how to make a great omellette. If you like southern dishes or mexican food, this is the place! Ribs, catfish, crawdads, collard greens, all very good. Plenty of free covered parking! I cant wait to go to Vegas next year and stay here! Its not far away from the strip and much cheaper!

Wasn't expecting the Ritz....but
By ,
The Texas Station is located well off the Strip and is quiet. We had a very good meal at the Italian restaurant located in the casino. Other than that the service was generally lacking. We called at 7:pm for room service and was told there was none because they didn't have the staff available to deliver to our room. This was during the second,if not first largest trade show held in Las Vegas. I was told all the rooms were full so why no staff?? Our bed was adequate, but our room had no tolitries stocked so I had to call the front desk. Our tolitries were not restocked at all during our 3 day stay. Our towels were skimpy and stiff as boards. Our in room safe also did not work and the front desk did not answer at 9 am in the morning. Overall I was disapponted with my visit to the Texas Station.
