Super 8 North East Erie Area, North East

This location had some bad reviews that almost kept us from trying it. Let me just say it was very clean, the staff friendly and the value for our dollar was very good. A little far too drive for our shopping but would definatly use this hotel again in the future.

Like one of the other reviewers, we pulled into North East around 3 AM and needed to get at least 4 hours' worth of sleep. In retrospect, we should have stayed in the car. This was the worst hotel room I have ever stayed in. At $65 for 4 hours, it was a complete ripoff. The room stank of mildew; the carpet was disgusting and the beds were hard and uncomfortable. The sink was right next to the bed. The ceiling tiles were old and sagging; the room itself was freezing and the wall-mounted heater was just plain scary. The toilet stank of urine and the bathroom was filthy. We didn't even attempt to shower. We couldn't get out of there fast enough; we made the kids sleep in their clothes on top of our blankets and kept our shoes on when we weren't actually in bed. A truly scary place. Do yourselves a favor and spend the extra $35 to stay in the Holiday Inn Express that is literally right next door. This place is awful!

Got in Erie at 3:30 am - all places booked except this one. Since we had to get some shut eye we stayed the night. Dirty room - stained bedding - comforter with stains and cigarette burns. Floor was damp. Spent the night being bit up in the bed by who knows what. Best and only good thing about the room was the shower was hot. Left as fast as we could!!!

They are busy on the weekends. We stayed four days and had no complaints. Was up scale at one time, but is showing it's age. Still a clean, comfortable nite for the price.
