Abbey Hotel, Miami Beach

From the minute you walk into the lobby an overall feeling of calm comes over you. The earthy colors soothe the mind and spirit. There's even a zen garden! One doesnt feel the pressure for perfection (as in some other hotels on South Beach) For business or pleasure, I highly reccomend The Abbey. The staff is always lending a hand and will point you in any direction for fun and play in this tropical paradise. The four different rooms I have stayed in so far are decorated in chocolate brown hues with white and blue accents.. very grounded colors and proven to relax the mind. The beds are amazingly comfortable, think sleeping on a cloud! The rooms have always smelled clean and fresh and the toiletries left in the spa bathrooms are not only top of the line.. but smell so good you wanna eat them. Extra seating in the rooms provide a place for shopping bags, that handy robe or friends to have a nice cocktail before heading out for the night. A copy of Ocean Drive magazine is left to thumb though, which lists all the restraunts and night life that sets Miami Beach apart from many other vacation spots. The food in the downstairs resturant fills the pallete with exotic spices and I highly reccomend having that candelight dinner ... or cocktail at the bar. For people with childen.. there is a great park located right across the street and library too. Plus the beach and some kid friendly restraunts are in short walking distance!! Location: Depending on your travel needs, The Abbey is located off the major club scene. Which can either mean a short taxi ride or a long walk! But since its off the beaten path, there is a lot less noise from South Beach riffraff at all hours of the night. I truly reccomend The Abbey for a wonderful stay in Miami's playground!!! Plus you cant beat the prices for this 4 star experience!
