Excelent location but a bit more staff training needed!

FANTASTIC LOCATION - connected to MBK centre & close to the best shopping malls, Jim Thompsons House and markets etc.
A little expensive but, if tight time in BKK as most tourists are, this is defiantly the best hotel option in the city because travelling in BKK traffic can eat huge holes in your shopping/sight seeing time and being so close to the attractions will save you hours.
FOOD - a little expensive but with so many options on your door step this is no problem You must try MBKs restaurantfantastic and what an experience.
SERVICE  A little shabby at times. This was more just training issues;
Serving tea in a coffee pot.
Seating you at a table, then laying the cutlery out, another person comes along removes the cutlery and wipes the table down and re-lays it!
Not knowing that room only guests could take breakfast at the reception restaurant as well as by the pool.
If a customer makes a complaint, the staff should not be told who made the complaint, (and even their room number) so they can ask the guest if the service was better this time! (I was shocked).
For an establishment of this standing, quality and cost these are not deal breakers but they are annoyances that the guest should not have to put up with.
That being said, the duty concierge was absolutely fantastic and the Pathumwan is still worth it for its location, its swanky appearance, excellent food, largest hotel pool in BKK (not that you should have too much time in it).
Go for it!
