Comfort Inn near Channel Islands, Oxnard

Check in date was 5/16/2008 at about 11PM. Check out was about 30 minutes later !!!! Party of four – me, wife and 2 teens Note that in over 30 years of using AAA guide book and online hotel listings, this is the only time I have ever had to complain. Last summer my wife and I drove from San Fran to Canada for our 20th wedding anniversary. We used AAA for all hotel and lodging / dining needs and were ecstatic. Channel Island Inn and Suites was the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at and the ONLY time I have EVER actually left a hotel without staying the night !! We should have seen the “warning sign” as we first drove in: we saw security chasing people thru the parking lot, A/C was extremely noisy, there were dirty sheets in the sleeper sofa that my son was going to sleep in, the advertised high-speed internet ( which we had to use to find a local Marriott) was very low speed – my pocket PC worked faster !, spiders in the bathtub, no iron or board in the room. This is a AAA 3 diamond place????? It did not even deserve 1 star !! The front desk people were indifferent to our issues – they could have cared less and did not offer another room, or to fix any issues. The channel island inn was disgusting!

I absolutely loved Channel Islands Inn! A good friend and I flew out to California (for the first time!) to see my boyfriend and our other friend, both in the Navy. It was so awesome how close it was to the Port Hueneme Naval Base! I also really liked that it is right next to an IHOP and just across the street from a little market! :) I also really liked how big the room was, and the table and chairs on the outside patio. Lets just say that everyone was commenting on what a great hotel I had found on the net! :) Its a great deal, plus you get a bunch of perks like movie rentals, a microwave and fridge! Its seriously awesome!
