we would stay here again
By ,
We enjoyed our weekend stay here before our cruise. Great beach access right out the hotel door. You can walk on the boardwalk to south beach which is about 2 miles or you can take the local bus to lincoln road and ocean drive where all the great eating places and shopping are. The hotel is fine and we would stay here again. The staff was friendly and the elevators were running great. The rooms are fine, and they were clean.

Enjoyed our stay!
By ,
We spent 3 nights here, one before our crusie and 2 after the cruise the other reviews were good so we decided to try it and were happy with what we had. First night in room 911 we had 2 "queen beds", they we doubles, and small but ok, room had view of building next door but was clean and comfortable. Next 2 nights were in 435, king bed ocean view, larger room and very nice. The bathrooms seem a little dated and small, but they were functional. The staff was great, very friendly and helpfull. The bell staff were extremely helpfull and first rate! Resturant was good but a little pricey. The grounds are nice and very open very family friendly and quiet! Only negatives were lack of dining options especially on the beach, all high priced hotels. Also I was led to believe that it was closer to South Beach then it was, about 2 miles. The bus is fine $2 each way per person or a long walk. We've stayed at true 5 star hotels like Biligio in Vegas and others, but none of them had the friendly, helpfull service that we had here! This is not a "cheap" hotel at $200 per night but for the area it is reasonably priced. We would stay here again.

Great New Hotel
The location is great, right on the beach. Restaurant and bar were wonderful. Great food & staff and very reasonably priced. The hotel is brand new and very comfortable. The rates are better than other hotels in the area that are not as nice. I stay in the area on business but I will definately bring my family back for a fun weekend.

Enjoyed every minute of it!
By ,
The location is excellent - right on the beach. The morning buffet was delicious. I was a little surprised that it didn't have a bar opened since it was football playoff weekend and there is one located in the lobby. Within walking distance to Beaches Bar for sports nuts. The workers were very polite and accommodating. Lobby, restaurant and pool side were all very clean. One must remember however; this is an older much used hotel but enjoyed every minute of it.

Terrible !
By ,
This hotel is the worst hotel i have ever stayed in ! First let me say... i am not picky but, The elevator took ages to arrive. It looked like all the wires had caught fire at one time. The service was horrible no one spoke english. The valet parking was 22.00... When you got off the elevator you had to walk around tools in a very dimly lit area. The beds were hard as concrete ! Don't know about the pool area because they took so long checking us in ! The food was way over priced.. the place is very ,very dirty ! Bottom line is they couldn't pay me to stay in this hotel again !

Nice but expensive
By ,
Hotel was ok, but there was some problems: 1 - the parking sistem: 30 minutes to pick-up a car, never answer the phone on time, we had to phone frontdesk to warning car assistance; 2 - on the second night some people where having a party in the room next door. We stood on the 933 and on 934 there was a party going on. we phone frontdesk to complain about it at 3h in the morning and at 7h still noone had come! 3 - the elevator were a joke: 2 elevators with 6 people capacity for a building with 10 floors and a thousand rooms?! on the day we arrived there was a waiting time of 15 minutes to pick-up the elevator! Dispite that, the hotel had good conditions for the price, the pool was good and it was located right by the ocean.

hotel was good, but Yahoo customer service was terrible
By ,
I made a reservation for two nights, but my flight was cancelled and I had to cancel the first night. It took me 2.5 months and lots of phone calls to get a refund from Yahoo Travel.

Constant Source of Aggravation
By ,
I just got back from a week's stay at this hotel with my wife and three small kids (ages 4, 2 and 4 months). The hotel was a never-ending series of aggravating episodes and we will never go back there. 1) There's NO laundry service of any kind offered by the hotel! When you travel with small kids, you have a lot of laundry to do. I was told by the front desk that if I wanted to do laundry, I had to either use the washer/dryer at the Days Inn 2 blocks away or go to a laundromat on 71st Street, 2 1/2 miles away! Insane. I've stayed in $49 a night truck stops that have laundry self-service. This was a constant source of irritation for me. 2) On the day we arrived, February 21, we were told that it would take 30 minutes to retrieve our car and it was 15 bucks a pop! Crazy. By the day we left, February 26, that was bumped up to one hour. We parked on the street using meters every night starting on the second night of our stay. Fortunately, we only got one parking ticket, but it was only 18 bucks, and at least we didn't have the big delay in getting our car. 3) The continental breakfast was way too expensive ($9.75) for what was offered. Most annoying was their refusal to allow us to buy two cups of coffee without paying the full $9.75. Our only other option was a coffee machine in the lobby that charged $1 for a five ounce cup of lousy coffee. One morning, I came down at 7 am to buy coffee at that machine, only to find that it was out of milk and sugar. The front desk told me that the restaurant was in charge of the machine and I would have to see the restaurant manager. 4) The elevators were slow as molasses. 5) The water pressure in our bathroom was lousy. The toilet had to be flushed at least twice to get everything down. Overall, I found that the front desk would not help you with most things, always passing the buck to someone else. Do not stay at this hotel.

No way EVER
By ,
Housekeeping was above average and the place was very clean. That is just about the only nice thing I can say. Staff is less than helpful, what started as a mildly irritating experience blossomed into full frustration by the 3rd day. We had a noisy neighbor above us who seemed to be throwing bowling balls starting around midnight. After several calls and nothing being done, we asked the next morning to be moved to another room. That took all day to effectuate and we had to hurry and pack because they refused to let us use the luggage cart ourselves. Valet parking does take a while. The first two days they told us 30 minutes and that is how long it took. The third day, when we actually had somewhere to be at a certain time, they told us 15 minutes. We gave them 30 and went downstairs. Long story short, it took 2 HOURS to get our car. They LOST OUR KEYS for a while. The "manager on duty" was rude and ineffectual. He never apologized or offered anything for our inconvenience. We were late to meet our friends and nearly missed the beginning of the race. The next morning we spoke to the general manager who assured us he would check into what happened and "take care of us". The beach is not the nicest however, they did just sustain a hurricane so we are hoping that is why it was never raked and there was a lot of debris. The pool is nice, however, you have to get towels from the front desk and the people in the ever present line to check in/out (checkout on tv NEVER worked) give you the evil eye as if you are cutting the line. Upon checkout we were informed that for all our troubles, they would credit us 2 days valet (a whopping $30). The general manager did apologize, but with an excuse that they are so busy, etc. We heard that from everyone, we are so busy, blah blah blah. This place only has 250 rooms. We have stayed in hotels with excess of 4000 rooms many times with perfect service. Clearly they have a severe management problem and no one really cares. DON'T STAY HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!
