4 Diamonds 4 SURE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/27/09
I took my new wife to the Honor Mansion (www.honormansion.com) for my honeymoon and loved it. The cottages are very private, spacious and comfortable yet elegant. The food was gourmet and served with beautiful presentation. The grounds are breathtaking at every turn. Though there are plenty of amenities, activites and spa services, the property was quiet and exclusive. We loved the staff. They were prompt and professional. They stayed out of the way but were always there when we needed them. I would get married again and again and again if it meant going back to the Honor Mansion for a few nights. 4 Diamonds 4 SURE!

Loved the Honor Mansion
By travelfan41, 02/26/09
I recently stayed at the Honor Mansion for a quick 2 day getaway, and loved it! I was able to book one of their vintage suites on a buy one get one special, which averaged out to a little over $200 a night, the same price i noticed their smaller rooms are, and the same as some of the other specials i found in Healdsburg, but this was such a nicer suite! It had a private patio with a jacuzzi, plus a big tub inside, too! my favorite part was the breakfast delivered right to my room, i never even had to get out of my PJ's! Until i went wine tasting, of course. All in all, i thought it was perfect, a very relaxing, rejuvinating experience that i hope to repeat soon!

A place to find peace of mind.
By Ed, 02/10/09
Do you want a place where you can find peace of mind? Well there is such a place. My wife and I were invited to a small conference for people who have lost children. The group is starting a foundation and decided to hold it at the Honor Mansion. We were very excited as have stayed the Honor Mansion many times before and now had another reason to return. Though it was a difficult weekend our stay couldn't have been better; it was soothing to our souls. The weather was perfect and so was so was the property. The staff was attentive but not obtrusive in the least. Breakfast was fantastic with almost too many choices. We like that they changed the way they offer breakfast with many more options and more flexibility for the guests. The wine and appertizers were great and it was nice to meet new people. Our room, the Garden Suite was pristine clean and very private. We loved the bed and private spa. We really enjoyed the early coffee delivery to our door complete with newspaper and delicious biscotti. They have the most amazing cookies available every afternoon and I ate way too many. We had time to sit by the pool, play a game of bocce and took long walks through the gardens. We just can't figure out why this property stands in number 2 position behind any other property as it is in a class of it's own. We've traveled a fair amount in our marriage yet have never been to a place quite like the Honor Mansion. They are much better than any average bed & breakfast; they are truly a 5 star resort with the coziness of a B & B and the service level and amenities of a larger resort, just without the crowds. We cannot wait to return and are hopeful that the foundation decides to meet at Honor Mansion again. This place really gets it, they truly serve and honor their guests and it shows. No Welcome at the Honor Mansion
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/05/08
Beware the onerous pay-in-advance, 90 day no refunds cancellation policy. Forced to cancel on 2 weeks notice due to my sudden job loss, owner Steve Fowler refused to cancel the booking with even a partial refund, also refusing to permit me to sell the fully paid $2k reservation on Ebay. He had vacancies, so had not turned away business due to my booking. Even so, I offered to pay a substantial penalty. His response- try to “make the best of a difficult situation. It’s our policy. I’ve recorded all our conversations.” What a prince!!

Amenities Galore
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/08/08
Exceeded my (very high) Expectations! I had heard so much great things from Select Rgistry and Unique Inns books about the Honor Mansion that I was afraid to be set up for disappointment. I am glad that it did not stop me from staying there last week! Attending a conference in the area, I opted from this luxurious inn instead of the generically nice hotel where my event was taken place. Even though the business part of the trip prevented me from spending as much time at the inn as I wish I had, by the time I slipped in the large soaking tub at the end of the day I felt I was truly on vacation. I decided to splurge and opted for one of the new suites in their own building past the pool (the rooms inside the beautiful Victorian house are smaller but charming and very well appointed). The suite was large, had a fireplace, a shower with two heads, a soaking tub inside and a private spa tub outside. How decadent is that? Unfortunately, it was too cold for an outside dip in solo but had there been two of us, I probably would have felt differently. The king size bed was extremely comfortable with its new Tempurmedic mattress and luxurious linen. Talking about luxurious, I have never seen a room appointed with so many amenities (and I have stayed at many of the world's best hotels, including the Peninsula in Chicago). It is easy to see that Cathi & Steve, the proprietor-innkeepers, have spent years creating an atmosphere where every one of your possible need has been anticipated... I could go on and on but here are just a few examples: two types of robes (micro-fiber & terry cloth), a spa basket with additional amenities for the outside tub and a turn down service for your afternoon nap... which I wish I could have taken! The service is very professional yet welcoming and it is clear that this is a tight run ship with hands own owners who take great pride in their property - rightly so. I look forward to go back when this will be a truly leisure trip and to be able to experience the wine & hors d'oeuvres hour, breakfast by the koi pond, a massage by the beautiful pool and possibly play croquet or baci. I might even try staying in the water tower! P.S. Walli's in Healdsburg was a great dinner recommendation for my colleagues and I.

Absolutely PERFECT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/11/08
Honor Mansion exceded our expectations in every way. It goes far beyond what one thinks of as a charming bed & breakfast. The suite we stayed in was luxurious and beautiful, filled with gorgeous antique furniture in addition to brand new modern appliances. The service is superb, the breakfast was delicious, and we had the most wonderful, relaxing time lounging in the room. We cannot wait to stay here again... it was extremely difficult to leave!

Indulgent, romantic B&B
By Lucky13, 05/31/06
Honor Mansion was an amazing experience from start to finish. We surprisingly scored a reservation at the last minute for the Tower Suite, but were immediately upgraded to the Garden Suite upon arrival. A bottle of champagne to toast our anniversary was also promptly delivered to our room... one of the many perks of staying at this fabulous location. The suite itself was a wonder for a B&B. Luxury personified. Three private entrances, fireplace, stereo, VCR and a small video collection (no DVD players yet, but really, who's coming here to watch TV?), a shower with dual shower heads, a private hot tub on the back porch where they fully encourage the use of bubble bath... amazing. The beds were covered in fluffy pillows, and every detail - from a mini-fridge stocked with complimentary bottled water, sodas, brandy, etc. to the bottomless chocolate-dipped macaroon cookies in the main dining room to a full turndown with mints and the addition of slippers to each side of the bed - was accounted for. They have an amazing wine/apps hour - on Saturday evening, it was two kinds of wine with a selection of salmon mousse, crab dip, petite tortellini and - of course - the macaroons, as well as some fresh fruit. We took a few items and sat outside by the koi pond, which is some of the most beautiful scenery around - particularly for a small, private hotel with only 26 rooms. The pool and surrounding property is gorgeous - a stroll at night, sitting out by the stars, a number of wineries off in the distance make for a killer view. They also offer spa services, a number of which can be delivered poolside if so desired. The breakfast at Honor Mansion is not to be missed. For Sunday breakfast, we were served fresh cranberry-orange scones, grilled pineapple with mango sorbet, and Grand Marnier french toast with chicken-apple sausage. This, of course, was following the basket of coffee and fresh-baked biscotti that was left on our doorstep that morning. While Honor Mansion may be a bit pricy for some, depending on the room or suite, it's definitely an experience worth having. We just got back yesterday and we're already planning our next trip! Highly recommended for anyone looking for what Honor Mansion bills as an "adult-oriented" experience. We didn't see one child on the property the entire weekend... which made the entire stay even more peaceful and relaxing.
