Amenities Galore

Exceeded my (very high) Expectations!
I had heard so much great things from Select Rgistry and Unique Inns books about the Honor Mansion that I was afraid to be set up for disappointment. I am glad that it did not stop me from staying there last week! Attending a conference in the area, I opted from this luxurious inn instead of the generically nice hotel where my event was taken place. Even though the business part of the trip prevented me from spending as much time at the inn as I wish I had, by the time I slipped in the large soaking tub at the end of the day I felt I was truly on vacation. I decided to splurge and opted for one of the new suites in their own building past the pool (the rooms inside the beautiful Victorian house are smaller but charming and very well appointed). The suite was large, had a fireplace, a shower with two heads, a soaking tub inside and a private spa tub outside. How decadent is that? Unfortunately, it was too cold for an outside dip in solo but had there been two of us, I probably would have felt differently. The king size bed was extremely comfortable with its new Tempurmedic mattress and luxurious linen. Talking about luxurious, I have never seen a room appointed with so many amenities (and I have stayed at many of the world's best hotels, including the Peninsula in Chicago). It is easy to see that Cathi & Steve, the proprietor-innkeepers, have spent years creating an atmosphere where every one of your possible need has been anticipated... I could go on and on but here are just a few examples: two types of robes (micro-fiber & terry cloth), a spa basket with additional amenities for the outside tub and a turn down service for your afternoon nap... which I wish I could have taken! The service is very professional yet welcoming and it is clear that this is a tight run ship with hands own owners who take great pride in their property - rightly so. I look forward to go back when this will be a truly leisure trip and to be able to experience the wine & hors d'oeuvres hour, breakfast by the koi pond, a massage by the beautiful pool and possibly play croquet or baci. I might even try staying in the water tower! P.S. Walli's in Healdsburg was a great dinner recommendation for my colleagues and I.
