BEST WESTERN Hotel Carlos V, Madrid

The only thing i would suggest to you guys is making sure you book it online at SweetHotelDeals. N e t I did a bunch of searching for hotel prices, and that site seems to have the lowest prices all around

The first day we walked into our hotel room, we were told the room was the "best in the hotel." We put our stuff down, and saw BED BUGS all over the bed. Yea, the room was small, the bathroom nice, and the balcony great, but none of that was worth the wrath of BED BUGS we would've had to deal with had we stayed in the room. We were moved 2 rooms over, and although we didn't see bed bugs there, we couldn't be sure. The new room we were given looked the same, except the blanket had green and white stains all over it, so clearly we did not use it, and froze all 4 days we were there. Also, the toilet and trash can were broken. Then, 2 days after staying there, the internet went down, and the manager proceeded to fight with me for 30 minutes because he was convinced there was internet in my room, when I kept telling there was not. Finally, he came to our room and recognized that our room did not have internet, and noticed that there was internet in the hallway. SO HE ASKED ME TO SIT IN THE HALLWAY IF I WANTED TO USE INTERNET. Overall, terrible service, terrible room, worst experience ever in Madrid. Great location, but the location would not make me want to stay in the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, in my life.

I used to live in Spain and have travelled extensively throughout this most wonderful country, all of Europe, as well as Asia. This hotel is excellent! For the price, you cannot beat it. The breakfasts are wonderful and as far as the location is concerned, it is in "Old Madrid", very close to "la Puerta del Sol". The staff is so very friendly and helpful,especially, "Domingo". I have the names of the others written down but it would take me some time to go and find the file! Truely, a great hotel.

i liked the atmosphere of the hotel , very culturally sound and stable it was very clean located in the best location, the help was amazing truly a great honeymoon spot for couples

We loved this hotel for the location, friendly service, and knowledgeable staff.It is close to several metro stations. We especially liked the friendly staff that was always ready to help us with directions to the different metro stops so we could explore Madrid. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

pack your bags because this hotel is the bomb its ballin'. everything was perfect. the rooms was awsome it would be good especially about everything. the view was mind blowing. the restreunt there is the best.

the staff was the best I have ever seen or known we had the best of care, the location was just perfect for our purpose as we wanted to explore madrid on foot which we did and we will come back to do it again.

Transportation including buses, subway, taxi and of course walking to all tourist interests. Many resturants and shopping near by. The Christmas musical played out side the hotel at the nearby department store all afternoon and evening on the hour until 11 PM is tiresome but only lasts about 15 minutes. Good breakfast

The location is wonderful, within walking distance (sometimes long) of almost anywhere we wanted to visit. Clean rooms, although quite small-very friendly and helpful staff. Reasonable rates. We changed rooms, requested a room on the street because the first night we stayed our windows opened onto a the back of a building. The street side rooms are a little noisier, but much more interesting! We would recommend the hotel to anyone who is cost conscious but requiring spotless conditions and fine staff.

Wonderful Location!! Can't be beat. Elegant Breakfast Room. No Coffee Machines here. Rooms vary. Only complaint = shower sprays alternating hot/cold water... either your scalded or chilled. Very personable, great service.
