Grazie!
The staff was fantastic! We were walking distance from the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, & the Roman Forum. Breakfast is plentiful, although the coffee is bitter. But, capuccino is available at the bar for 1.50 euro. This hotel has a three leaf rating for eco-friendly hotels. Our room was huge! I don't know where everyone else was staying, but ours was on the interior courtyard, very roomy, with a bidet. This is the biggest room we've had so far in Europe. We walked all over Rome from our hotel the first night. The Manzoni subway station is steps from the hotel. Great place to stay!

Never again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/11/11
The bedroom had full blast air conditioning which reduced the temperature to about 4c. The matresses were as hard as cobblestones. the pillows were similarly filled with rocks. The traffic noise went on all day and when it stopped the road works started. It was like sleeping on the back of a lion in Trafalgar Square.

The hotel is not at 4-star standard
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/2/07
The hotel is basically Ok in location, as it takes only 10 mins to the scenic spots. but the metro station, named Mazoni, is unfortunately closed recently for renovation, so you have to walk to the next stop or take bus to Termini station. The room is small, and dark. for tourists, it's acceptable, but not at so called 4 star standard. There are 192 rooms in the hotel, and many bars and restaurants nearby. Reception is not very professional.

Overcharged
By Carm, 1/24/07
Rooms were small, location was nice. Front desk staff- rude. We were charged for multiple PPV movies when we had only rented one. Even when I pointed out that several of the movies were showing at the SAME time on different channels, they refused to refund our money. The bathroom was dirty, and the hotel was loud. (I think our room was next to a conference room, where a teen youth group was holding a party until midnight.)

Not great
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/27/06
Arrived fairly early in the day but they allowed us to check in anyway. The teller was pretty cranky, maybe he was just having a bad day. The room wasn't what you would expect in a 4-star hotel, the double bed was about 140 cm wide and pretty short. Since I'm a pretty tall guy (185cm) my feet were hanging out over the edge all night. Apart from that it was also very hard, a real back-killer. There was no safetydeposit box in the room despite the information sheet saying that most rooms are fitted with such, and if not there would be one available in the reception free of charge. Despite this they asked for 50 when we wanted to put our valuables in the safe downstairs. The room itself was more or less a sauna, the airconditioning was probably switched off for the season. The ventilation fan broke down during the night as did the electronic keycard reader but they managed to have that fixed later during the day. The information sheet was deceiving, stating the wrong hours for breakfast and incorrect fees for room equipment and prices. It's not as close to Termini as you would think, it's a fairly long walk(30 minutes). There's a subway station just outside the hotel, which was unfortunately closed due to renovation work in progress. In general a bit of a disappointment, I've slept at better 3 star-hotels and I wouldn't use it again, much because of their superior attitude It wasn't bad enough to ruin our holiday though, but far from great

Location is all it's got.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/10/06
From this location you can walk out to wonderful gelato shops, coffee shops, restaurants, & within 10 minutes be at the Colloseum/Forum area. As long as you are away from your room, you'll have a memorable experience. The showers splatter water on the floor. The rooms are tollerable. The TVs are useless. The refrigerators remain at a steady 74 F. The staff is arrogant, rude, & in the wrong business. They might fit in better as garbage collectors. But, the location is primo.

rome was great shame about the hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/15/06
My family have been fortunate enough to have stayed in many 4 star hotels in the world, this hotel has to be the most disappointing we have ever had the mis-fortune to stay in! The rooms were not cleaned to a good standard, ours had food and fluff under the desk. The beds were ancient and 2 of the mattresses were stained! The hotel reception staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful, glaring over their glasses if you dared ask them a question! The restaurant only opened for breakfast or if you were in a group something we were not informed of when booking.I could write much more but shall finish by adding. Rome was beautiful,if we as a family should go again we would certainly not choose the President Hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!
