De Vere University Arms Hotel, Cambridge

The pictures of this hotel are the most deceiving I have ever seen. We drove up expecting to be staying in an old charming hotel. The picture shown is from the back and is not at all representative of the hotel. We changed rooms 3 times. The first was on the street just above the bus stop and was so loud. The second was so tiny we did not have room to open our luggage. There was only enough room for the double sized bed(we paid for a king). The a/c did not work in any of the rooms, the pressing machine was hanging off the wall. Out third room, we went in to turn the a/c on and found it did not work. Guess not...there was a sticker on the a/c saying the a/c did not work and had been disconnected....the sticker was dated June 12. Almost three weeks earlier, yet they sold us the room. This was an old, dingy, hotel that is in need of tremendous repair, yet it was one of the more expensive hotels in Cambridge. It was a miserable 3 days. We left early!
