The Lion, Shrewsbury

My stay at the Lion hotel was intended to be from Friday 23rd June to Monday 26th June. I stayed in a double room with ensuite facilities. I found the room cramped, dingy and dirty, and its fixtures and fitting were in a poor state of repair. In particular the carpet was frayed and splattered with stains. The bathroom was covered in mould and the paint on the ceiling was flaking badly. For the first two evenings a disco was being held in the hotel's function room and the noise from which could clearly be heard from my room well past midnight and was not conducive to a relaxing stay. In summary my experinece of the Lion hotel was far from enjoyable and I had to check out a night early because of it.
