did little to impress
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/4/08
The service is terrible, as is the condition of the rooms. Room service does very little to assist with different requirments. Often I sent my food back three times in one day. The orders were always wrong. You didn't recieve bills to sign and items were often added. The housekeeping is slow. It is old, feels old, and looks old. Not at all child friendly.

Not worth it at all
By tom, 5/2/07
So aggravating.... First the good things..great location, concierges are wonderful and helpful, room sizes are quite good and gym is good for a London hotel. Bad...rooms are in bad shape, carpets are threadbare. Seems fraying, stains everywhere, felt the need to where slippers in rooms. Most of the furniture is beaten up and not in an antique sort of way. Just tired and run down. Management said they are renovating rooms but would not give us a schedule and to date have only fixed about 20 of the rooms. Awful..They nickel and dime you. Infuriating. As we all know London is now the world's most expensive city for Americans because of the currency. Its fine to pay between $600 and $1000 per room because that seems to be market. This hotel charges$5.50 per 800 call. Most hotels do not. That means everytime you want to access your calling card you get wacked. 1 minute local call is at least $6 dollars. The worst is their puny business center..If you want to check your emails it costs over $40 dollars for 20 minutes. Over $100 for one hour of computer usage. It doesn't seem fair that your have to pay thousands of dollars to stay at a hotel and than they nickel and dime you for items that should be included in your stay. Find a different hotel.

Awesome!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/19/06
Claridges was so clean, absolutely in the most perfect location ever...and the value was beyond anything describable. Service was impeccable. I sent for my pants to be pressed late one night and the next day and I asked for the man to come down at 8 am to deliver them. He was standing at the door at 7:59 and knocked at exactly 8 am! The rooms are amazing. It really feels like old time London. There are always cars out on the streets to take you where you need to go. A starbucks just around the corner also! And if you want to stay in one night...which I am sure you won't because..DUH ITS LONDON!!!....the room service menu is incredible. I'm gonna wrap it up..but I am sure this helps someone out if they are looking at staying here!! Its super nice...literally...everything about it.

Only Claridge's!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/13/06
I have been staying there over the past 50 years and have never considered any other hotel. While the standard has dropped, as has the world's, Claridge's has dropped less than most and continues to be a marvelous place to stay. The hall porters could not be more helpful.

Decent Prices
If you're lucky and get a great rate then stay here because it's nice and quite roomy for European hotels. It also has a good conierge.

Royal treatment
By OLGA O, 8/28/05
If you want to feel like a royalty give this hotel a try. It has a long list of rich and famous who patronized this establishment. You will pay accordingly... All rooms are very different and you should ask to see one before you rent it. High tea is a must.

Cool hotel, Mick's London Home
By Shawna, 6/7/05
I did not stay here but went over to look at it. Mick Jagger lives here when he is in London since his divorce, and I had to see it! VERY SWANKY! Next time I am in London I will stay here for sure...good enough for Mick, it is good enough for me!! And also some other celebrity was here too...not sure who though. A TON OF PAPPARAZZI here....lots of people waiting out front with cameras when I was there........must say something for the place! A+
