LUXURY 5 STAR
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/6/11
Aaron & Helga Roseman – Israel Based on our stay at the superb Intercontinental Hotel Berlin, we made our choice to stay at the Intercontinental Frankfurt from August 30 – September 4, 2011and were not disappointed. We found all the staff extremely friendly and very helpful. When we checked in we were given a map and explanations how to get to various places. In the evening Stephan recommended some wonderful restaurants which he booked for us. Our room was spacious overlooking the Main River, promenade and Sachsenhausen, the view was breathtaking and after a day of sightseeing it was a delight just sitting in our comfortable armchairs drinking coffee and cappuccino and watching the cruise liners. Room and bathroom facilities were brilliant, A/C perfect, bed and pillows so comfortable, in fact every detail well thought-out to make guests feel at home. Breakfast was scrumptious a lavish choice of German, English, American and Asian dishes, our waitress even remembered what we liked to drink each morning. In the lobby there are 3 private free internet rooms. A 15 minute stroll along the promenade brings you to Roemer and Geothe House/Museum from there another 5 minutes to the main shopping area Zeil. The Palmengarten is worth visiting, adorned with roses, fountains and Cafes. The view from Main Tower was amazing, but bear in mind that the Café only opens at noon. Restaurants we enjoyed Zum Storch am Dom, Klosterhof and Druckwasserwerk which received awards. Beware of taxi drivers some of them are rogues, make sure they drop you exactly in front of your destination we were caught out twice in town going to restaurants and had to get another taxi! If you have been to Berlin Zoo don’t go to Frankfurt Zoo waste of time. Restaurants, Zum Storch am Dom, Klosterhof, Druckwasserwerk All in all an unforgettable holiday enhanced by a delightful and pampering stay at the hotel.

Modern Hotel, close to train and river
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/19/10
This is a very modern hotel. Very business freindly, most of the people staying there are business people but they treated us tourists very well. The rooms are American sized as are the baths. Modern and clean. The lobbys are beautiful (there are two building on either side of the road with tunnel connecting). The front desk is eager to help you find anything. Free internet in the business center. No free breakfast but go to the train station for Crepes! The train station is walking distance even with luggage about 3 blocks. The river is just blocks away and the muesums and churches and old town are within walking distance. Plenty of buses and trains to take you any where you want to go. Great central location. If you have been traveling germany missing modern hotels stay here, if you have been loving the older hotels then this would not be it. (If you do stay here go to Leons Italian attached to hotel and order black spagetti you will love it!)

Great location in Frankfurt
By BruceN, 6/24/07
I liked the service and professional staff. I had a River View room for a 2 week business trip and was quite happy. The breakfast was very good and the hotel staff was quite polite and helpful. The location is fantastic and very close to museums, theatres and cafes. I would strongly suggest having a cell phone with a local number as telephone charges are steep and in room internet is also pricey (although WiFi is free in the lobby). It is also a short walk to train station, but is far enough away to be well out of red light district. It was a pleasure to walk along the river in early evening with local students and families.

Average hotel
By Karen Y, 11/15/04
I stayed at this hotel in November, 2003. The hotel had all the amenities I required. However, I did not like its location. In addition, before I reserved a room at this hotel I asked about the metro, if it was safe to ride the metro? if the metro station was safe? The hotel staff told me yes to both questions. However, I was accosted at the station the first day I went to utilize the metro. The second day I rode the metro, I ran into a group of hooligans. After these two incidents, I rode in taxis. When I choose a hotel to stay at, I expect the staff to give me honest answers to my questions. Be prepared to spend at least $200 Euros on taxis.

In addition, the bedspread & blankets were dusty. If you have allergies and/or asthma, BEWARE. There are also not enough nonsmoking rooms.
