Hotel de France, Auch

The Hotel de France, located in the upper town center of Auch is a lovely old world hotel with a fabulous restaurant. The rooms are comfortable with heavy drapes and are old school fabric laden. The restaurant, run by Chef Roland Garreau serves up excellent cuisine of Gascony with a very good list of local wines. The location can't be beat, just across from the Cathedrale Ste. Marie and very close to the Gers River. Auch is a charming old town and the Hotel de France is a place where I'd recommend anyone who wants to experience Gascon charm to spend a night or two.
