This luxury hotel is located on the best-known street in Helsinki, right across the street from Stockmann . Everything is nearby, including the Swedish Theatre and Esplanadi park, lined with all kinds of shops and restaurants. The hotel contains three saunas, indoor parking for 100 cars, a business center, two bars, a restaurant and a classy cafe. Room decor features lots of wood and parquet flooring, all rooms have a television, some a sofa. The hotel's name comes from one of Finland's most illustrious and esteemed historical personalities, Marshal Mannerheim, Marski. The expectations raised by this name are well met by the hotel.

Great Location, but older facilities

I'm a frequent business traveler to Helsinki, but this was my first stay at the Marski. The location is excellent! On the main street downtown, across from Stockmans (big department store) and just a 5 min walk from the train station. Also close (walking distance) to many museums and sites in Helsinki. The downside is that the facility is old, and could use some remodeling. Lots of wood in the room, but much of it needed to be refinished. Beds were comfortable, but there's no defined space for the shower in the bathroom, so the water goes everywhere. The included breakfast is great by western standards, but didn't have as much variety as other hotels in Helsinki. The price was good, but I was hoping for a bit more from this hotel.

Great location!

The Marski is in the best location. Across the street from Stockman's department store, and from a bus depot, close to the Marimekko store, and a short distance to the Helsinki Design District and the Market Place at the harbor. You can walk just about anywhere from this hotel. The lobby has one computer for free internet use (30 mins) but is often occupied during the week by business travelers. Continental breakfast is great and is more like a full breakfast, buffet style. Our room was clean but overlooked an alley and parking lot. However it was quiet. Room a bit stuffy and warm in May but window opens. Nice place to sit outside the hotel and have a coffee while watching the busy street. All and all a good hotel, good service, best location.
