The Mozart of Hotels?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/4/08
This is a very large claim, but I believe Sacher's in Salzburg is one of the very best hotels in the world. The location is perfection. The 1865 building itself is very fine. The decoration is both quietly lavish and wholly pleasant. The service is the nec plus ultra of highly professional, utterly correct, and warm-hearted. The two dining rooms (the more lavish restaurant and the and the brisker grill) each serve impeccable food for their styles.
What is there not to admire? I have now stayed 3 times. On the scale of the Carlyle in New York, the Berkeley in London, and the Paris Ritz there is no hotel I return with such pleasant anticipation as the Salzburg Sacher. For what it is, it is even good value.
