Principado Hotel, Buenos Aires City

This place was like heaven compared to the other hotels on the same block. We stayed at the Waldorf across the street for the first 6 days of our trip because of our package. Terrible. Then we moved to the Gran Orly, but only stayed for about 5 minutes because our room was on a floor that was being renovated. The Principado's staff was very friendly. After hearing of our previous experiences at the Gran Orly and Waldorf, they provided us a room for 90 pesos (about 30 US$ at the time). The service was excellent, the staff was friendly, and the doorman was hilarious. I would stay here for $100 US per night next time.

I stayed at the Hotel Principado in mid October 2005 for 3 nights. I bargained the rate down to about 3/4 the asking price. The hotel represents good value for money. Although I rarely stay in 4 star hotels, I found this hotel's great location, right around the corner from Buenos Aires' top night spots, unbeatable. My room was clean, quite and comfortable. The staff were friendly, efficient and obliging. However, the breakfast was VERY average, for a 4 star. I would stay there again.
