Aurora Hotel, Antigua Guatemala

I love everything about the Aurora. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The showers are hot. The staff is friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is so relaxing. This is an authentic Guatemalan experience. The free continental breakfast allows you to choose fruit or local bread - which are both very good. They also offer delicious pancakes for a small price. The hotel is located 2 blocks off the town square. It is safe and secure. The only thing that might be considered unfavorable is the street noise, but we find that the noise adds to the whole cultural experience. I can't wait to go back. My stress level cuts in half when I walk through the gate.

my husband and i really loved this place. it has so much peaceful atmosphere. the rooms a roomy and clean. the staff is very friendly and helpful. it is quiet. no dogs barking near by at night and they have a locked gate that only people staying there can get in. feels very cozy and safe.

I've been staying at the Hotel Aurora since my first trips to Antigua Guatemala in 1978, and it's always been a quaint beautiful little retreat in the middle of this wonderful Spanish Colonial town. Breakfasts on the patio with the hummingbirds and rose garden are a real treat! Great location near the center of town, and excellent value, instead of paying high prices to fancier places. Also have enclosed parking area if you're bringing a car. No phones in the rooms which is also a welcome change! (of course there is TV, if you must watch!) Internet access a few doors away at one of the many internet cafes and centers.
