Hotel Montana, Port-au-Prince

I really enjoyed my stay and appreciated it even more when we moved to the El Rancho. It is the nicest Hotel in Port A Prince, hands down. I used to sit at the pool bar and down a few Hineys and then get a massage at the cabana 30 feet away. Multi-level patios and gardening make for a nice stroll on the grounds. The only time I didn't enjoy is when the missionaries came there before going back to the states and got buck wild making noise and running around yelling.

I went to Haiti last week and this hotel was a disaster. Our office at Port Au Price made the revervation and the hotel did not respect it. They send me to an apartment for $90.00 per night and this small room did not have hot water, it was full of cockroaches. Honestly, I feel that they take advantage of the country situation. What a shame!!!

I have been visiting Haiti since 2000 and have always been inspired by the beauty and splendor of the Hotel Montana. The breathtaking panoramic view of Port au Prince is beyond compare and leaves one in awe as they gaze upon it. Were it only for the beauty of the hotel itself, the stylish art decor and the delicious menu choices, Montana Hotel would rank high among the other hotels in its class. That is hardly the case! It is the hard work and the care put into it by every employee and member of management that makes this hotel the best place to be! It is truly a shame that the political strife and the insecurities of Haiti prevent so many from being able to enjoy the splendor of the Hotel Montana. I would definitely recommend the Hotel Montana to anyone who is so fortunate to be able to visit Haiti.

This hotel is the best in the country, and the choice of all important foreign delegations. It is a nice place, not opulent. Villa Creole and El Rancho are the other options but only if the Montana is booked.
