Spent the week in Old Havana, including two nights in Varadero, before going back to the Airport to fly back to England.
Now here is where things get interesting.Virgin Atlantic had some difficulties with their plane, and it returned to London for repairs, but because they are a wonderful company, they bussed us to Vedado, to meet up with this fabulous looking hotel, and spend a night at their expense experiencing the wonderful views of downtown Old Havana. I had my free evening meal in one of their 4 restaurants, and was a marvellous buffet, I had forgotten I was in Cuba.
The rooms really are 5 star, clean , spotless, just as you would expect, from anywhere in the World. This hotel is situated in a more tranquil area than in the old part, but $5,00 taxi fare will take you to the sights.
So I had just settled into bed in this wonderful room at midnight, when there was a knock on the door from the chamber lady ! Quick , come, you must leave now, the bus is outside for you, the airplane is repaired, you cannot sleep now !! Would you belieeeeeeve it ??????
Folks, I can't even tell you about the breakfast, but I think it would have been just marvellous.
Can anyone tell me what my free breakfast would have been, what did I miss, if only Virgin Atlantic had not repaired their airplane so fast.. Thanks, what did I miss? Syd
