Sandy Bay Beach Club, Bridgetown

some people loved this place others hated it.. Even with the good reviews, I would do serious research before going there

The hotel is situated in a lovely central location to all the ammenities. The food is beautiful the drinks are fantastic. The hotel and pool area are very clean. There is free water sports available good entertainment in the day and at night. The room was lovely the only thing i could criticise was the wooden stairs leading up to the rooms are not good for small children or elderly. The dining area of the hotel overlooks the beautiful beach. I would highly recommend the sea fishing organised by the hotel I have never had so much fun!! it was a wonderful holiday and hotel and I would definately go back again.

The staff were very nice,pleasant and attentive to your needs. I have never visited Barbados but would do it all over again in sandy bay beach club. The rooms were very basic but it serves its purpose. If you are going to stay in your room and not explore the outdoors and the many beautiful things to see in Barbados I suggest you go to a 5 star hotel so you can stay in the room the whole time. If you wish to see the island and not spend thousands of dollars then I highly recommend Sandy Bay Beach club.

The best thing I can say about this hotel is that it is in Barbados, however even the beautiful white sands and clear blue ocean could not compensate for a truly awful experience. We wanted to be moved within hours of arriving but had to wait until the following morning, when 15 other people asked for the same. The brochure does state that a standard room is very small which is why we asked for an ocean view, there was an error and we were put in a standard room, (not the hotel's fault but they weren't very understanding about it). With a standard room you could be anywhere in the world as all we could see, through plastic slats, was a concrete wall facing the kitchen vent. The shower was dirty and people kept trying to open the connecting door in our room. The pools are deceptively small (and the water murky) and the brochure gives a false sense of proportion. There was glass and litter on the beach, cigarete butts everywhere, and the buffet area was unclean. The beach barbeque consisted of pizza, burger and chips. It felt more like a tacky resort than an idyllic Caribbean getaway. If you are looking for a holiday that gives you sport on the television in the bar, karaoke at night, and a typical holiday camp experience then this is ideal. It is not my idea of what a holiday should be about and certainly not worth travelling to Barbados for. Yes, we are used to higher standards than this, however, we would have put up with basic, unclean is entirely different. We were moved to a different hotel the following morning and were amazed at the amount of people who followed. There were many others who appeared throughout the week who had also asked to be moved for similar reasons. We would never have considered this place had we known what to expect, and were encouraged by some of the reviews before we left the UK. I have never seen so many people transfer to a different hotel before, in fact we have never had a holiday where we needed to complain or had such a terrible experience. It's your worst nightmare come true, and the last thing any one wants to go through on holiday. There were so many people who expected similar to us, and were hugely disappointed and disgusted with this hotel so something is going wrong somewhere in the description and the way it is presented.

Sandy Bay Beach Club is the best holiday I have ever been on.The people are really nice and friendly the rooms are luxurious the drinks are gorgeous and so is the lovely food.You can go on turtle trips and jet skies and loads more!You will never be bored it is great I recommend this trip to anyone!

The hotel was drity the people were very nasty. The food was poor the facilties were never working there was no kids club and it is not a place to take any children  on hoilday its just a hotel for older couples who want to go to bed early.

I loved it! best holiday so far!!! The staff is so friendly and polite, i do not understand why people can write a bad review they obviously have nothing else better to do then to complain. Myself and a friend are both 22yrs of age and we cant wait to come bk and revisit the country! we are def staying in the same hotel as we made good friends with staff and some locals! ive been back in England now for 1 day and im so depressed i really want to go back!

Likes: the staff were brilliant,could not do enough for you.Very cheerful and friendly. On the beach, which was terrific. Good water sport ammenities ( many of them free). Good sunbed,brolly and beach towelservice. Food/Drink: overall good.Odd thing not right but nothing to moan about. 2-bed appartment absolutely huge,well good decor and kept serviced and clean. Reception area and staff lovely and very helpful. Dislikes: Noisy area not helped by shutters only on some of the windows.Glass would help both to keep the noise out and the occasional torrential rain.Pool area and poolside communal toilets got particularly dirty and needed more regular hosing down/cleaning. Convenience: Loads of varied nightlife around,from cheap & cheerful to more expensive. Great variety. Overall a great holiday, good value for money. We will go back.

sandy bay is an excellent hotel it has a buitfull beach were the water is crystal clear and the sand is white because it is so lovely. On a night if you go onto the beach there is a lot of crab there but they are scared of you and will run away if you spot them.if you in june at about the 9th of june the turtles begin to come up onto the beach and lay there eggs. There is a lot of lizards there which was fun. There pools are not very big but you dont reaally need a pool after youu have seen the sea. If you are goin to explore out side of the hotel what ever do not and i mean do not get a taxi they ccharged us $140 whenn you can get a zr bus for $1.50 thats 40p in english money. It's a very god experience on the zr bus with all of the reggae music playing. All of the staff were exellent. The cleaners were friendly,the cooks were fabulas any time you wanted food they made you it. I would like to say a special thankyou to juniour who works on the sunloungers he was 1000000000 out of ten he was absolutely exellent a very very friendly man and i hope we stay in touch. And i would aslo like to thank andy the security guard who was the sweetest man i met over there he wouls shelter us to breakfast he was exellent. But the day we were leaving he started to cry and that really touched me so we will aslo stay in touch with him to. So finally sandy bay was 10/10 i really enjoyed it and would defenetly go back and am going back, thanks for the great time jack snaith rm 106

I love the beach and the view from my room!!! if I had a place I could live in, this would be it all the way!!! You guys are awsome!!!
