Great Beach-Bad Hotel
I stayed at the Divi Dutch Village from October 23 to October 31. It was a mixed bag. The hotel is comprised of the Tamarijn, Divi Village, Dutch Village, and the golf and resort. If you stay at one, you stay at them all. I signed up for the Divi Dutch Village-worst one.
1) When I signed up for excursions with a tour company, the concierage rep. told me that I would be picked up in front for them. I waited an hour and then had to call the tour company. They told me that the pick ups always occured at the Tamarijn (across the street). Why didn't the concierage tell me that to begin with instead of watching as I waited for an hour?
2) Disorganized staff-I ordered a CD of pictures from my snuba trip and put an envelope at the front desk with money. The envelope was supposed to be given to the delivery person in exchange for a CD. I checked after a couple of days and surprise, no CD or envelope filled with money. I asked several staff members, who did not know what I was talking about. They said that if I had dropped off the envelope, it would have been noted in the log. I showed them where it was noted in the log. After lame excuses, I walked away unhappy with no CD or my money back.
When I checked out, I was charged for WiFi (that I did not use during my stay) and for a meal I had at Mulligans. I reminded them that I had a $50 food voucher and that I did not use the equipment as claimed.
3) Bad gym-3 treadmills, an eliptical, stair master and four bikes for all five hotels. All of the treadmills were broken and not repaired during my stay. Believe me, there were issues. The person working at the gym was great though.
4) Golf carts every five minutes huh? That's what they tell you, but you end up waiting a long time in the heat for one to show up. I am young and just walked it most of the time because I was tired of the wait.
5) Room smelled like smoke.
Pro's:
1) Right next to a beautiful beach.
