This is still the case two years later- a real shame. In every other way this is a fine place to stay.

Our suite at the Bay View Suites was excellent in all respects. The facility as a whole (and our suite) was clean, up-to-date and well maintained. Service was very good. The staff was friendly and ready to help us with the slightest request. Location was great. Only 10 minutes away from Atlantis, 15 minutes from a public beach and a short cab ride to Nassau. We enjoyed Bay View Suites greatly and would certainly go back.

We had to pass them on the way to and from our room and I found the experience of seeing such truly beautiful birds being kept in such a tiny enclosure very depressing. They could barely unfold their wings let alone flap them and had no private area where they could hide from the stares of passersby. Best Western need to make it a priority to build a huge aviary for these wonderful birds where they can live the rest of their lives in greater comfort.

My wife and I stayed at the Bay View from 7/23/07-7/27/05. From check in to check out the hotel and service was great. The staff was wonderful. Honestly, I really didn't know what to expect when we got there (I actually expected the worst), but the rooms were spacious and extremely clean. To my surprise, we also had a kitchen in our King room. The maid service was excellent. Also, the pool was open 24 hours a day. The only thing that caught me a little off guard was how expensive the food was at the hotel. And being in the bahamas, the food at the hotel was really not all that good, especially for the price you pay. If you really want to eat good, I recommend going to Arawak Cay and going to the Seafood Haven. Best food we had while we were there. But everything else was wonderful and we will definitely go again.

A beautiful tropical setting with lush, well-kept flora. Amazingly well-appointed with super-clean suites; convenient to everything on Paradise Island. A very special place to kick back and relax. Private, uncrowded, with helpful, attentive staff, the Bay View Suites has become our 'home away from home'.

We stayed in the one bedroom suite, and our king-sized bed was very comfortable. Our daughters, however, were not as happy with the pull-out sofa. This was our only complaint. The grounds were just beautiful, with tropical flowers and plants everywhere. The staff was super helpful and friendly. We loved the fact that we had so much room as opposed to a single hotel room. We prepared most of our breakfasts and lunches there to save money. The beautiful beach, shops, restaurants, and the ferry to Nassau were all within walking distance. There was also 24 hour security at the front desk and the pools were always open. We can't wait to go back. Tip:Bring as much food from home as you can.Grocery stores are scarce and expensive on Paradise Island.
