Cheap and Clean
By ,
The service is great, but the hotel is far away from town, and 15 minutes away from the nice beaches. Rent a car or bike.... Taxi is too expensive. Don't forget to visit Playa Palancar, Playa Mia, and Paradise Beach.... Try going in the Atlantis Submarine that goes 120 feet inside the ocean. Chankabanka Park will be opening in April.

Beware of alot of misinformation on thier website and other websites
By ,
The website advertised services that they do not offer. There is no beach club, not all room have ceiling fan, our superior room did not. The air conditioning unit in S13 was old and very mouldy smelling, and made the room very damp and smelly. I had to wash all my clothes on return as they all reeked of mould. The staff member who checked us in at 11:00 pm, after a huge delay by Sunwing airlines, argued with me right for the get go, when I ask for a cot as there was 3 of us. We hadn't even check in yet. The plumbing in this room was very old, the hot water tap in the shower broke, but they did fix it within a couple of hours and there was usually no hot water, the water is straight from the ocean which makes it saltwater. So you are always washing in saltwater. The place did reek of sewer gas from time to time. There is no drinking water in the rooms, but is advertised as such They have a pool room with a bathroom right off the pool, but it was always locked and you couldn't use it. The outdoor furniture is old and not comfortable. I did like the grounds and the gardens. They pay more attentions to the grounds than the rooms.

Great Bargain
By ,
For the money this is a great deal. Right across the street from the ocean and just a little ways out of town. Room was kept clean and A/C worked great. Comfortable king size bed with nice feather pillows. Small refrig and microwave if you need. Free parking for rentals. Dive shop across street. Small cafe/bar above dive shop. Margarita's terrible though. Bypass the 2/1.

Superior room only
By ,
I hear that the superior rooms in the new section are wonderful, but the standard rooms in the old section stunk, literally. The septic system left the whole room with a horrible sulphur smell. The rest of the hotel was nice, the new management at the cafe is just as great as Nancy was and the location was fantastic. If you go, make sure you get a superior room.

Very comfortable with old world charm
By ,
We loved the old world charm. Air conditioner sort of noisy but overall everything was clean and comfortable. We would definetely stay again! It was quiet at night yet close to town. Only cost us $4.00 via taxi to get to downtown! Beautiful view of the ocean. Felt very safe.

Great snorkeling
By ,
The hotel has a very traditional Mexican ambience to it. The snorkeling is great. Check out the sunken jet airplane. Would go back to this hotel for the value alone.

It Was All Right But Not Great
By ,
The marble flooring is lovely to look at but when it's humid, the floors are very slippery. On one occasion, first floor rooms flooded during a rain storm. I had a first floor end room. When I woke up to go to the bathroom, I noticed something on the floor - it was a scorpion. I was able to kill it myself but didn't sleep very well after that episode. The pool wasn't kept clean - lots of leaves, etc.
