Honeymoon spot!!!
My new husband and i went to Cozumel for our honeymoon. This was the first time that my husband has ever traveled outside of california. We had a really amazing time at the Villablanca hotel. First day we were there we were greated properly and attended to right away. The food and water was amazing this location is definitely best for diving and snorkeling. They have different things that you can do there as a "tourist" but it's nice being there and relaxing the way you can with it not being to populated the way cancun or the other famous locations for mexico are. The drinks are great and really hit the spot. This hotel really is right in front of the major bars and activities that you can do right on the beach. If you take a cab and go down to "the center" right in front they have some other activities that you could do like a "lobster dinner cruise" that was on a pirate ship with unlimited drinks and entertainment. They have glass bottom boating, and submarine. Its really amazing too because the entire Island still has a lot of forest and hasn't been completely destroyed because of the tourist population. I hope they keep it that way. I do plan on going next year and taking more people with us to enjoy the experience that i had. This hotel was wonderful and supplied water for you and you get your own fridge, and the rooms are big and has a/c! other wise you would fry! One of the best things i liked about this hotel is that there aren't many rooms like your average hotel. This one only has about 50 rooms . If you want to use the pool it's never crowded, or if you want to walk around your hotel, it's never crowded. It was really peaceful and a great way to escape from reality for a while.

Small but Cozy!!!
By ,
The best part of this hotel is the location right on the main street of Rafael Melgar. You have alot of options catch a cab that is 24/7, rent a scooter for a day ( that is next door for $35.00 a day ) or just go to the front desk and ask reception to provide you with a scooter or a car. Customer Service at this hotel is EXCELLENT, whatever you need they will provide . Beware, the hotel is not luxurious but is welcoming its good for the price. The only 2 things that I totally disliked was the water and the towels ( were old ). However, I asked them for new ones and they provided them quickly. If you pay a couple of dollars more you could get a suite room which is much bigger and a more modern bathroom. This was my first time in Cozumel and I am planning on going back to the same hotel next year. I really had a blast.

Beware of alot of misinformation on thier website and other websites
By ,
The website advertised services that they do not offer. There is no beach club, not all room have ceiling fan, our superior room did not. The air conditioning unit in S13 was old and very mouldy smelling, and made the room very damp and smelly. I had to wash all my clothes on return as they all reeked of mould. The staff member who checked us in at 11:00 pm, after a huge delay by Sunwing airlines, argued with me right for the get go, when I ask for a cot as there was 3 of us. We hadn't even check in yet. The plumbing in this room was very old, the hot water tap in the shower broke, but they did fix it within a couple of hours and there was usually no hot water, the water is straight from the ocean which makes it saltwater. So you are always washing in saltwater. The place did reek of sewer gas from time to time. There is no drinking water in the rooms, but is advertised as such They have a pool room with a bathroom right off the pool, but it was always locked and you couldn't use it. The outdoor furniture is old and not comfortable. I did like the grounds and the gardens. They pay more attentions to the grounds than the rooms.

Very comfortable with old world charm
By ,
We loved the old world charm. Air conditioner sort of noisy but overall everything was clean and comfortable. We would definetely stay again! It was quiet at night yet close to town. Only cost us $4.00 via taxi to get to downtown! Beautiful view of the ocean. Felt very safe.

Cheap and Clean
By ,
The service is great, but the hotel is far away from town, and 15 minutes away from the nice beaches. Rent a car or bike.... Taxi is too expensive. Don't forget to visit Playa Palancar, Playa Mia, and Paradise Beach.... Try going in the Atlantis Submarine that goes 120 feet inside the ocean. Chankabanka Park will be opening in April.

Nice place, nice price
By ,
The reviews I read almost kept me from booking VillaBlanca; however, once we settled in, I was very impressed. The place was clean, quiet, no bugs (although the stairwells smelled of bug spray) and the staff was very accomodating. The pool was nice and the gardens - fabulous! Expect a $4 cab fare downtown. We booked the diving with the room and the boat dives with Papa Hogs dive shop (across the street) was terrific. We also did some shallow shore dives anytime we wanted. The down side: I had a trouble finding the cable button on the TV, so we watched all-Spanish TV one night and the bed was a little hard.

It Was All Right But Not Great
By ,
The marble flooring is lovely to look at but when it's humid, the floors are very slippery. On one occasion, first floor rooms flooded during a rain storm. I had a first floor end room. When I woke up to go to the bathroom, I noticed something on the floor - it was a scorpion. I was able to kill it myself but didn't sleep very well after that episode. The pool wasn't kept clean - lots of leaves, etc.

Great Bargain
By ,
For the money this is a great deal. Right across the street from the ocean and just a little ways out of town. Room was kept clean and A/C worked great. Comfortable king size bed with nice feather pillows. Small refrig and microwave if you need. Free parking for rentals. Dive shop across street. Small cafe/bar above dive shop. Margarita's terrible though. Bypass the 2/1.

Great snorkeling
By ,
The hotel has a very traditional Mexican ambience to it. The snorkeling is great. Check out the sunken jet airplane. Would go back to this hotel for the value alone.
