Great beach to visit while in port

1st, it needs to be known that the hotel/lodgings were detroyed by a hurricane, however, the restaurant, pool, and beach are available for a $10 cover charge.
We came in on the Carnival Legend, and asked the local taxi stand supervisor where he recommended. I'm sure he gets a bit of a "thank you" from the resort, but it is well deserved.
I used to work onboard a cruise ship, so I was very familiar with all the tourist beaches, I wanted something quieter, and I was not disappointed.
Our Taxi fee up was $13 total, a great deal as that it was several miles North of "downtown" San Miguel, and $25 to return to the port. Hint: Hook up with others going back to the same location, the charge is per taxi, not per person.
The beach was quiet and peaceful with some great close snorkling, though it was a bit rocky. I recommend beach shoes. The water was blue, calm and clear. Plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas, included in cover charge. Also included is snorkling equiptment.
The fresh water pool was simple, but beautifully located, so that you can look out to the sea.
If you chose to get a bite to eat, you won't be disappointed, but keep in mind, the portions are very generous. I ordered the chicken fajita, and by far it was the best I ever ate. However there was enough to feed a family of 4 (and I like to eat!) The tostados with guacamole were awesome, and again a HUGE portion. I very much enjoyed my Sangrias, there is nothing like a fresh, genuine Mexican sangria!
At the peak of the day, there were approximately 50 people present.
All in all, I so totally will go back to the beach, and I hope that the hotel is soon rebuilt. I could stay there for a week easily.
