Dreams Cancun Resort and Spa All-Inclusive, Cancun

Loved the view. Loved the water. Very much loved the restaurant. We are considering your hotel in the future. We were told your hotel was a resort one had to buy. Not timeshares, but like a condo room. You did change you name from the Comeal Real. My name is Velma Masi. My husband's name is Frank Masi. You probably have our names in your old records. We were there in 1999 or 2000.

We went there for our very first trip as husband and wife, after finally saving for our honeymoon/10 year anniversary. There were cockroaches in the elevators and the room doors we not to the floor. They had huge gaps where it met the floor and I slept horrible worrying about the roaches and salamaders. The Lagoon was full of jellyfish, which we couldn't even walk the permeter of the water. For people who cannot afford a ton of money and save hard to go on a nice getaway, this is NOT it. So disappointed.

The overall stay was great. The beach was nice, food was good, rooms were nice and clean. The Sea Side Grill was our favorite restaurant. We weren't to pleased with the Seafood Restaurant and the World Cafe was so so. Some nights it was ok and there was a couple nights that was terrible. Their breakfast was great!! I miss my omelet in the morning:) The Mexican restaurant outside the resort was good. One night out of the week they make that restaurant all inclusive. They close the world cafe and the Mexican restaurant is free. Other wise you have to pay to eat there. Now the worse part of the stay was the bar staff. The waiters were GREAT!! Friendly and will joke with you. Alberto was our waiter for most of the trip and he was GREAT! The bar staff other wise was terrible. Rude, will not wait on you till they have to, will not acknowledge you unless you get up and walk over to where they make the drinks. I stood there waiting to be served for 10 + mins and they wouldn't acknowledge me until I got pissed and walked away. Then they wanted to take my order. After they make your order they still expect a tip!!! WRONG!!! I watched them put water in their liquor bottles one morning while they were setting up. Drinks have little booze in them. I recommend asking for a shot with your drink and add the shot to your drink. I should also mention we experienced this at the bar with the swings by the beach and pool.

It was the worst hotel I have ever visited. It is very geared to children. Do not let the online photos fool you. Children everywhere and the hotel caters to children. So many of the employees do not speak English, even though the USA is 90% of their clientele. If you care about enjoying good food while your away, do not count on this establlishments food. Not good. When you order drinks, make sure you order doubles, better yet, bring your own. Being its Mexico, they have lots of Tequilla but that's it. You like Vodka? Best to bring your own. Bad food, bad drinks, and lots of children. They actually have gigantic rafts in the water for kids. They don't show them in any of the online photos. Its a very old hotel. If you want beaches, this hotel has none to speak of. You definately do not have what the photos provide. And...if you are not out at a beach or poolside chair by 8am. forget it, there will be no chair for you. My vacation here was awful. I could not wait to return home. If you have children, and you don't care about the food or drinks, its a great place. I hated it.

Stayed at the Dreams Cancun Resort over spring break 2008. I spent 2 days trying desperately to get out. It was awful! The pool is tiny, the beach is tiny, the service was horrible. My 2 children ages 7 and 11 were bored after the 2nd day. There were not chairs on the beach for the guests so getting up at 3:00 - 4:00 in the morning was the only way to get a chair on the beach. After 6 years of going to Cancun, this was the first and only time that we had any stomach issues. All-in-all, I would never recommend this hotel/resort to anyone. It was expensive and definitely not worth even half the price I paid for it.

No pressures! Food was very good and you can have as much or little as you want. The weather was on the cool side but still warm enough for ocean swimming. I've read some negative reviews about it but didn't see any of the things that were mentioned. The staff was first rate. We would definately go again. If you leave the hotel grounds, be prepared to say "no gratias" many times, there is no welfare in Mexico and everyone tries very hard to get your buisness.

this was the best vacation we've ever had! we're saving for our next trip there. i've got to say that when we stayed when they were remodeling the resort(1st week oct. 04)so we got a discounted price. even amidst all the construction the resort was gorgeous. the staff took care of us like we were royalty. i suggest the big buffet restaraunt (not tower lobby) for b-fast. loved the beach grille for lunch( and drinks). and they were all good for dinner. oh yeah, the pool restaraunt has a great fish sandwich. they also have lots of activities to keep you busy. on a side note, for the adventurous type, i suggest taking the bus to playa del carmen. i loved playa del carmen! from there you can go across to cozumel if you want. cozumel was fun but i liked carmen better. that whole side trip cost us about $40 ( minus food, of course).cheap fun! oh yeah take the bus anywhere in cancun. taxis are way too expensive. that's about all i have. HAVE FUN!!!!

We just got back on Sunday 6/26/05, had a great time. The staff is very nice, very attentive, anything you want, they will get it for you and always with a smile. The food and drinks were excellent, the room and hotel were very clean. They had shows nightly and always had something to do. The pool was nice, but small. The lagoon was nice, but not to swim in. The hotel is in an excellent location, private, but just steps away from the center club scene and shops. There were 3 small beaches, only one was really nice to swim in, the others were very rocky, until you got in about up to your knees. All in all, a great vacation getaway, great people, great food, clean place to lay your head, oh yeah... the beds are hard as stone though... that was the biggest downfall. The spa is nice was excellent. Great place to stay for the $$$'s. Two thumbs up!!!!

my husband and i chose dreams for our honeymoon destination. we were both very leary of what to expect since neither of us had ever been on a tropical vacation before. the dreams hotel was beyond what we expected and the staff was amazing. the service was impeccable at all times and the hotel was extremely well maintained. the food was pretty good (better than expected for an all-inclusive) and the drinks were great with an amazing bar selection. the beds are hard but nothing that would make us not want to go there again. overall, it is a very relaxing place for couples to go! also....remember to bring a little air freshner for the rooms...the humidiy makes for a damp/musty smell a little bit.

My girlfriend and I had the greatest time at this hotel. The private beach is great with a server coming around a lot for drinks. The free breakfast each morning was a nice touch, plus the free drinks at happy hour with snacks were the best. This place is a short walk from all the best clubs and the two flee markets in the area. The hotel is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff is very helpful and they clean the room twice a day if you like. Cool "free" beach towel service was a big bonus. Go here for a great time.
